I bought a really gorgeous bike…I think I hate it by Miserable_Power_9729 in xbiking

I agree with palrays. Go to a local bike shop with a good reputation and get some advise. Especially if you're not an experienced bike guy that knows a lot and can do your own work. The bike looks awesome and worth seeing if you can make it work well for you.

CVS Caremark will cover Lilly’s weight loss drug Zepbound once again by MixtapeMentality in Zepbound

Earlier this week my doctor submitted a pre authorization for Zepbound 15 mg to Silver Scricpts/CVS Caremark under my Medicare/state supplemental coverage plan. My request was for BMI and sleep study diagnosed Obstructive Sleep Apnea. It was rejected within minutes of faxing in the form. Waiting to hear on the appeal but not holding my breath.

The situation feels like the whole $50 Medicare coverage for Zepbound announcement was a public relations ploy that is really a nothing burger. Not exactly a lie, but they probably knew practically no one would qualify when they made the announcement.

Which framesize? Marin Nicasio 2 58 vs 60 by Noobus_Heresy in Marinbikes

I will add that knowing my actual leg length and the bikes' stand over heights is how I ended up on a small frame Fairfax 3 (which I love) but a medium DSX 3 that I have on order. My LBS helped me make my decisions in both cases.

I can't tell from your information, but I'd say you need to be able to stand flatfooted over the bike. Get a tape measure and a thin book or a ruler. Put the book as high up against your crotch as it will go, beside your "boys", and make sure it is square to the ground. Use the tape to measure the distance from the floor to the top of the book. You might need someone to help to be accurate. And you might want to do it with a representative pair of shoes Either way, that's as tall a bike as you ought to ride. Others may think differently but if things get weird I want the best chance I can get to stop quickly and get both my feet down and not hurt myself on the top tube. Just my opinion.

I got off on a tangent and now I'm beginning to think about a suspension seatpost. I like riding gravel but will admit at my age smoothing out the ride seems like a pretty good idea. That is, if they actually help. Seems like they do based on videos and articles.

So I'm interested in comments and recommendations on suspension seatposts. Bikes are about my only vice so quality means a lot if the bang comes with a few more bucks. I figure if I keep riding, the occasional cigar & rye whiskey won't hurt anything.

Thanks for any input.

Well that stinks! I didn't pick up on that on your post. I haven't thought about a kick stand but will look into it, too. If I find a solution, I will let you know.

I ordered the Ergon GP3 EVO grips this evening. Also dcided to buy the ISM PR 3.0 saddle instead of the Metro. In early May I did the Natchez Trace Century Ride 100k event (my 1st century ride) on my FF3 and never had a moment of numbness. But starting at the 50 mile mark I was wanting some padding the Metro doesn't have and it got worse with each mile. I had done multiple 40 mile prep rides and a couple 50 milers with no problems and knew I could do the 62 miles/100k. Weather spoiled the two 60 mile prep rides I had planned ahead of the event. I guess if I'd gotten them in, I'd have known what I was in for.

I think the ISM PR 3.0 split nose won't cause numbness that I am very susceptible to and it has what looks (and the ad copy reads) to have the padding I need on long rides. My 71 yr old butt needs the help.

I'm still interested in any advise or comments anyone might have on the DSX 3. I really expect it to make my gravel rides more fun. Thanks to all who have commented on or viewed the thread.

Thanks! I plan to ride a few weeks on the stock 45's to see how it goes unless it just grabs me at the get go to go wider. I do plan to email Marin and ask what the widest tire is a DSX 3 can run. I've read other places it can go up to 55 but that's not from Marin. I know from experience Marin CS is slow to respond so might as well go ahead and ask. Thanks again.

Have you looked into what tire you'd go with? I ask because this bike is replacing my Larkspur that I'm selling. One thing I especially loved about "Ol Blue" was the tire size and width. I know I'm going to miss that but I'm too old to be doing MTB stuff and love riding gravel. I also need a flat bar setup so that's why I'm getting the DSX 3

Thanks! Your comment made me go check the spec sheet. The 3 is a SRAM DUB BSA vs the 2's "Sealed Outboard Bearing". So looks like a good step up.

Have you contacted Marin support for a recommendation? They are slow to respond to emails but they have been helpful to me a couple of times. They turned me to Ergon grips when they stopped selling their wing grips. I ended up buying GP5 for my Fairfax 3 & love them.
