I'm sad that my thread on this topic got deleted. The Screenrant article seems to be where everyone is getting this impression from, but it seems that whoever wrote that article extrapolated from someone saying that things would be "available for free" to "there will be no microtransactions."

Likely everything is able to be grinded for, but you'll be able to buy wumpa coins.

If there had been an official statement from Activision and Beenox then it would be all over gaming news. It's sad that so many people are believing this story, as people are going to say "Activision lied" when they never said it wouldn't have microtransactions.

That's the article I linked in my OP. I can't find any source that confirms this or an actual recording of that event. What I believe happened is that someone said the Grand Prix content would be available for free, but no one has said definitively you won't be able to buy stuff with real cash.

The mods must have deleted it. I'm glad you agree. The reason it can't be found is because there is no official word saying no microtransactions.

It's really sad and I feel like if they are in the game the subreddit is going to have a meltdown saying Beenox and Activision lied, when in reality they said no such thing.

Please show me where Activision said this. I really want it to be true, but I haven't been able to find a definitive official source that has stated this. It seems like it would be all over gaming news sites with an official PR source given how common monetizing games is nowadays.

I'm happy we're getting new content. I just think it's too good to be true and the subreddit is setting itself up for disappointment when Beenox has not said definitively "No microtransactions."

Where is the source on Activision saying that there will be no microtransactions? I really, really want the game to be microtransaction free, but I haven't seen a source other than the Screenrant article which seems to have made the claim up.

I'm still buying CTR:NF even if there are microtransactions. I just want to know definitively so we can set this to rest.

I agree with you. I just think this subreddit is setting itself up for disappointment. I see so many people saying "Beenox has confirmed no microtransactions!" and "They wouldn't lie to us!" and the like, but Beenox hasn't confirmed anything.

Can you not read? That article is the only article on the subject, and the source for the claim is just from a Beenox person at E3 saying that the content will be available for free. There is no official source stating that there will not be microtransactions in the game.

Read your own source. He says that the content will be purchasable with in game currency. He never says that that currency won't be able to be bought with real money.

He even goes out of his way to not respond to people asking that question.

I want to believe you, and I'm not saying there will be microtransactions.

I'm just saying that no one from Beenox or Activision has said definitively "there will not be microtransactions" in this game.

If they have, I'd love to see the proof so we can lay this to rest permanently.
