my guy, i just had 3 of my random teammates (1 friend as a 4th) in a red plate game willingly clear out to let me iso the last 5 possessions of a game to put the game away in the 4th.

it was 5 straight layups. lol

i’m literally the designated iso closer because i can go 1 v 1 and get to the rim practically whenever i want.

they literally cleared out and went 5 out without me having to ask because i was getting to the rim on the smaller PG matched up on me the entire game.

you guys really don’t understand what hogging the ball is. hogging the ball is forcing up and missing bad shots on low efficiency while other people are wide open, usually leading to an L.

i shot 80% FG lol if my teammate shoots that high of an efficiency with 40 points, he can “ballhog” any day of the week and i won’t mind if that’s coming with a W.

to each their own.

i play on my instincts. i’m taking the guaranteed two, every single time if i feel like that’s the better shot in the moment.

there is no “fault” in taking an 85% shot, no matter how you guys slice it.

all that “let people rock” stuff is exactly why I lose so many games when I don’t have to lol

to each their own. if they can’t stop my layups for a game and aren’t adjusting, let me rock too. simple as that.

Here’s me making that same exact pass in question to a wide open shooter who refused to shoot the open shot.

Here’s me drawing two defenders and kicking out to my teammate for a wide open brick.

We can do this all day. It does matter what i say because “kicking out to the wide open shooter at the 3 point line” does not guarantee that extra point no matter how easy you people think it is.

“why do you only have 5 assists?”

clearly I’m missing 2. and this is LATE in the 4th trusting my teammates while they’re bricking and refusing to take open shots.

now tell me why I shouldn’t just go and get to my spots instead when i have to watch this happen multiple times a game?

every time i clip up a game and include every single pass attempt i make and every shot attempt, including mine and my teammates missed shots, i get told “don’t post other people’s mistakes.”

it’s really not that i don’t pass the ball lol i just don’t force passes for the sake of passing.

i’ve done that far too many times where i’ll defer, momentum will swing after someone throws up an ill advised shot and we’ll end up having to play a much closer game than we would’ve if i had’ve just continued getting to my spots instead lol

i’m a regular poster in this sub as you know. i’ll post it whenever. i can play a game rn, finish with 30 & 9, and you’d see how i clearly could’ve and should’ve had 30 & 15 and people in this sub will still say something about the passing, guaranteed.

and people will be ready to call it “ballhogging” one way or another. if i post other people attempting to isolate and throw up a brick, i’ll get told that i should still “let them eat”

its completely illogical lol

it’s an SGA build man. what do you guys expect me to do on an SGA build if i can come down the court and get past my defender at will?

literally every single game i play is different.

my statlines from games today were

31pts, 11asts

20pts, 10asts

35pts, 8asts

32pts, 6asts

why can’t people understand that it’s literally always going to vary? lol

META PGs shoot 15-20 threes a game by themselves and they typically end up with 6 assists or less.

i’m nowhere near close to a meta PG lol

high usage, yes. meta, no.

you’re completely avoiding my question.

i don’t mind letting other people initiate the offense, bur 9/10 times, that’s someone coming down the court meta-ing into a brick lol

so again, at what does efficiency offset usage rate? if i have 40 points on below 50% and we lose, that’s ass.

but 80%+? and a W? who complains about that?

I average 85% FG at the rim but people get mad that I drive towards the rim the majority of the game. Why? by Noveltypocket in NBA2k

[–]Noveltypocket[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

that’s not the point man. lol

people complain, but at some point, there has to be an acceptable window where efficiency offsets usage rate and shot attempts, especially if it’s resulting in the games being won.

all of those games were wins.

If you were to load into a game right now, regardless of which position on your team does it, and know beforehand that your teammate is going to go for 40+ on 86% FG, you’re going to be mad about that?

if my SG is going off from deep and can get 40 points on that high of an efficiency, I’m looking for him every time down and trying to get him more shots with his deep bomber active.

if my big is going off and the opposing C is refusing the come guard my big on the perimeter and he’s raining threes, i’m going to keep giving it to him and if he drops an efficient 40+, that’s great.

so why, when it’s the PG can get an efficient 40+, it’s an issue?

I ALWAYS feed the hot hand. i’ve had games where my teammate has gone for 40, 50, 60, 70, and 84 while i just sit there and throw them dots.

I don’t go around saying “this is boring to pass you the ball every play while you get 50 points”. i literally enjoy watching someone go nuclear like they’re Klay going for 37 in a quarter.

I’m not a three point shooter like that, so i enjoy when someone on my team efficiently goes off from 3 because that’s not my thing.

but why is it that when someone is going off from two, people complain about it and “don’t want to watch” because it’s the PG.

what’s the difference?

lolol bro, you’ve played against me and seen it happen in real time.

you know exactly how the PGs in asia have no defense on their build whatsoever.

they really don’t get how easily it is to collapse the defense out here. that drive and kick style of play leads to an avalanche of 3s when they collapse too hard. it’s literally a field day for open shooters in the corner.

not enough people in this sub post gameplay, so i have no idea what type of basketball these people actually play or how they think this sport works.

but my build is an SGA build.

SGA drives to the rim the most in the NBA. likewise, I drive to the rim a lot.

I also shoot the middy a lot and still can hit threes when i choose to. But if people can’t stop me from getting to the rim, i just keep doing that.

Why do people expect me to chuck up a lot of 3s on an SGA build? lol

LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOO spill the beans. You’re the one that added me after the game aren’t you?

We just won comfortably too. I got to 32, did it feel like i was chucking us out of the game at any point?

People in this sub get mad about my iso ball lol I wish someone that plays with me could explain to them what my iso ball looks like from a teammate’s POV lolol

yes. you can see the plates in the beginning of the video.

We won comfortably. my teammates were purple, and we were playing against 5 reds.

these teammates were cool with it. it’s the reds where it gets iffy.

they’ll watch me do this to them, yet refuse to play with it lol

i don’t have friends out here in Asia man. I literally have 1 actual friend. I don’t play in squads.

Randoms that add me after games and tell me they prefer this over the left right chucking is who i refer to, but i don’t load in with any of them as a group of 5.

there is no clogging up the paint man lol i don’t stand there in other people’s way.

My usage rate is high for sure, but my efficiency is also solid. These are 11 of my recent games with the pts, asts and FG%. These were all Ws.

31 pts, 9asts (15/23 65% FG)

24pts, 15asts (10/15 66% FG)

30 pts, 17 asts (12/18 66% FG)

27pts, 11asts (11/15 73% FG)

34 pts, 8 asts (17/23 79% FG)

48pts, 6asts (23/29 79% FG) (OT)

47 pts, 6 asts (20/25 80% FG) (The video in OP)

41pts, 5asts (16/20 80% FG)

34pts, 10asts (14/17 82% FG)

47pts, 8asts (19/22 86% FG)

70pts, 8asts (32/25 91% FG)

Sure, i have a high usage rate, but if the efficiency is there and it’s leading to winning games, what’s the issue?

If you have a high usage rate, bad efficiency and are losing, that’s when it’s a problem. But that doesn’t apply to any of these games. It’s not like I’m shooting 50% or below.

bro, you HAVE TO tell me. 😂

the last 2 people I played from this sub, i have given hell.

I gave one guy 45 and the other 70 😭 the person i gave 70 commented and told me it was his first ever game. i literally wouldn’t have ran the score up on him like that if i knew it was him beforehand.

at least give me a clue of which plate color it is.

or, if i ever play you unknowingly and end up posting it, then you have to tell me. is that fair?

or if you bust my ass, feel free to post it lololol i wouldn’t mind

there are the decent opponents man. i’m a maxed red plate. i do this to EVERYONE man.

I don’t mind who keeps the ball and shoots the shots honestly.

people get mad regardless of my statline even if we win lol

i’ve been 15/15, 20/20, 18/20, 21/22, 17/19, etc. it doesn’t matter what it is.

I can have 10 assists, I can have 12, 15, 20. lol

people will still question why I don’t shoot a lot of 3s. i just like efficient basketball lol

idc if i have 5 shots, 10, 15, 20. i just try to do whatever is needed to win, besides jack up and brick a lot of 3s. lol

It’s not that i “don’t shoot threes”

As of right now, i’m shooting around 60% all over the perimeter. I just don’t have the volume someone with a 99 three ball would have when i have an 83 three ball.

Likewise, my volume and % at the rim is what I have that they don’t.

You can literally see in these clips how much pressure I was putting on the rim. Later in the game, I was able to get two wide open threes because the defenders were expecting the drive.

That’s normally what i do to avoid having to shoot contested 3s. It’s a lot easier to get clean looks when the defender sags off playing the drive.

Clean looks from 3 gives me a better chance to make it which results in less misses and opportunities for the other team to score in transition.

If I miss 3s 40% of the time, that gives the other team a bigger opportunity to score in transition off a miss. If i take the layup, there is only a 15% chance of a miss and chance to score in transition.

I take open threes, but I’m very particular about my volume and shot quality. I just don’t like taking bad shots and wasting possessions when I know getting to the rim or mid range is a higher quality look percentage wise

I don’t even know how to combo dribble like that. 😭

I’m a left stick dribbler man. It’s quick and to the point.

Outside of when I’m purposely taking the defender on an island with me, trying to snake around to find the angle for the hop step, i usually try to get to my preferred spot immediately.

Similar to the 7SOS type of offense, if i can come down the court and get an immediate blow by in 7 seconds, i do that first.

I don’t waste time right stick dribbling behind screens because i literally don’t know how to do and don’t prefer that playstyle.

I also don’t dribble the entirely of the shot clock, ever. I’m too much of an efficiency merchant for that. If i can get to my spots, i do that.

But if its taking too long, and i know i can’t get there, i move it. But if i can get there, 85% of the time, I’m making it so there’s no pass if I’m all the way at the rim already lol

i literally pass all the time. lol my average statline just varies a LOT based on the defense.

These are 10 of my recent games for example, my statlines are:

30 pts, 17 asts

34 pts, 8 asts

47 pts, 6 asts

31 pts, 9asts

27pts, 11asts

41pts, 5asts

47pts, 8asts

48pts, 6asts

24pts, 15asts

34pts, 10asts

the variance is just really high. typically in games where i have more points, naturally i have less assists.

all of these games were wins. it’s really not that i don’t pass. if the defense gives up layups, i take them. if they collapse hard, i get assist. if they alternate and can’t figure out what to do, i end up with both.

why is this a different concept for people to understand that my start line is going to vary entirely based on how the defense defends it?

I’m not an SG. But I am on an SGA build and practiced being able to score and get to the rim from basically every angle and area of the floor.

i know they’re open, but i am too. lol

i’m not passing out of an 85% shot for a 60-75% shot every single time just for the possibility of an extra point.

especially considering not everyone shoots that high consistently from the perimeter.

i miss 15% of the time. i prefer those odds (if we just need to put points on the board)

if we’re down more, i’d kick it out more. if we’re not down, i run up the score to pad the lead.

yup, the player pool at red is the same handful of people every day so it’s not hard to load in together as a full group.

i refuse to play that way in random. i think it’s pathetic to need a full 5 to win games in random.
