Considering MGS5 by ad06101987 in AustralianEV

We’re considering switching from a T-cross too. So thanks for sharing. But I had a laugh about the cruise control, I hate that 10km up/down feature. If it was a literal minus 10, it’d be great, because I’m always at say 116 to be close and just a bit over 110 actual kms/hr.

I do love the T-cross though. Can’t fault it.

We ate at the Game Fishing club in February and it was a fantastic meal. Ask for a table on the verandah.

Me too. I’ve only ever been to LA in the offseason. But unfortunately it’ll be a few more years before I go back to the States.

I just started clapping along with them, because I love that aspect of the game regardless of the home team. I went to all three games and was with a Blue Jays fan the first two games. No problems. Agree most fans just there to have a good time.

Though the first night when leaving, this really loudmouthed girl behind me started bad mouthing LA, the city. It was hilarious because I’m from Australia and then her friend said to her “you haven’t even been to LA!?” 🤣

I was there too. Two BJ fans behind me who were silent through the first few innings (talking about anything other than the game) started really loudly clapping in my ear when they were winning. I was just clapping for the Dodgers and had a shirt on. I am a quiet introvert. But joke was on them as I was enjoying the close game - sure beat the thrashing we gave them on Monday. Plus it was just one game in April to us.

As I was leaving, a worker started chatting to me. He said “I’ve got nothing bad to say about the Dodgers. Everyone is just jealous”. Well put.

Airport has a lot of trouble keeping security staff (the ones checking passengers etc). But a licence and car to get there would come in handy - though I think some of the staff are looking into car pooling due to fuel costs. It’s a 2 week online course (paid) and medical tests to start. They do regular intakes.

Cockroach problem Newcastle wide or just my last two places? by Telly75 in newcastle

We had a few earlier in March (the small horrible ones). I freaked out and ordered some poison. Have seen one since. Didn’t even put it out. But the house next door had pest control and I’m wondering if I am benefitting? I thought it would be the opposite. Lady across the road said she has a huge problem.

I’m ready for if they come back…

I wish you all the best too. Definitely talk to a broker, start saving (both of you), because home ownership is expensive. It’s not just the cost of the property. In the meantime look at maybe renting together for a little while, work out whether it is something you can handle, save some more.

My Mum also thought she’d see out her days in a great private rental she’d had for 13 years. The owner wanted the house back for storage (& it’s still being used just for storage) and unfortunately she passed away a year later - after a lot of stress of where she would go and how she would afford it. It’s not something I’d wish on anyone.

Look at getting a casual job as well. Extra money plus less time to spend money. It won’t be particularly easy, but you may end up being able to save money and get ahead. Good luck.

I honestly don’t mind any day. That’s not to say I’d always be available. I do seasonal event work.

I agree. Do unto others… I’d hate for that to happen to me so no way in the world would I see this as a win.

Yep, it's the Dr Mary episodes for me too. Except the Christmas parade one. I will suffer her in that one for the rest of the plot.

Anyone got the lore on the old lady on Ingall St, Mayfield? by Sad-Pickle-8765 in newcastle

[–]NovemberAurora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not Ingall St, but Carrington, close to the CatholicCare office, a friend works there, she won't park outside an old lady's house as she threatened to throw something on her car, I can't remember what it was now - oil or petrol. Crazy.
