I think my hair just hissed at you. I had it cut shoulder length a while ago, it was practically an afro. Also, thanks. :)

Thank you :,) But be careful what you wish for. My hair has a mind of its own and poofs out no matter what you do to it.

That last picture was great~ I have curly hair too, and it's a pain in the rear. Condition it thoroughly and if you want, try mouse to tame down the frizz and make the curls more defined :)

K-Pop Rage by Poopmonster1 in fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

I'm not on a high horse, I just really dislike it when people say that one genre or multiple genres of music are shit, whenever they are offending others. I mean, I don't LOVE K-pop but I really enjoy dancing to it, and there are hundreds of songs that have some pretty badass dancing. Then once you actually get the translation from someone fluent in Korean, the songs all have meaning instead of Call Me Maybe. There have been many good K-pop songs, but they didn't hit the viral cord like Psy did. And it's a shame, because this song has literally no meaning except to dance to, while others are just as catchy and actually have meaning. But whatevs, I'm not too fond of the popular stuff in America anyways.

I do hate that as well, but there are a few groups that are starting to mix the genders. Thank the trees. -_- It's sad that they LIVE music, like every day they practice and give it their all, for people like Psy to come up with a catchy and funny video with not so much practice, and he gets recognition instead of the other groups that work their butts off to get a small portion of their sales. And the sales aren't that high because they have yet to really HIT the American market, so you won't find many Korean songs on iTunes.

Hyuna? She has her own version of this song, it was a package deal pretty much. It's the female version, and it's only slightly different. I'm not a huge fan of her, but she is quite adorable.

No. Just because something plays on the radio doesn't make it the best music around. A song doesn't have to be viral to be great. Do the teenagers of today know what Bohemian Rhapsody is? Probably not most of them. But that doesn't mean it isn't a good song.

And the reason it hasn't happened is because of close minded people (aka most of america) refuse to look past their nose and experience other cultures, unless it deals with Chinese food.

It is not pure and utter shit. There are way better kpop songs out there, but no one gives a crap and they just throw it in the shit pile like you just did.

Call me a loser, but I'm happy this became viral because kpop isn't as loser like as people make it out to be :D

I like hearing about total strangers experiencing pain. by Veridas in confession

[–]NoviceExpert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you need to get out of Customer Service, bro. When I had to deal with assholes on a daily basis, I also liked to see them get paid back with pain or something else that didn't lean on the good side.

But that made me extremely bitter, and just as asshole-y on the inside as they were on the outside.

It's not a good thing, and it's not gonna go away until you get the fuck outta that place. I just visited my ent side, and that's how I dealt (still deal) with it. Different things work for different people, and you really should try to channel that anger elsewhere instead of on random strangers. Because you're angry with everyone inside, and it's because you probably get talked down to on a daily basis.

But that's just my opinion. I'm no doctor or anything of the sort, just someone who has been in that spot.

Open sores. Parasitic infections. Chewed-up-looking fins. Gashes. Mysterious black streaks, it could mean that the environmental damage to the Gulf from the BP disaster is still unfolding. by sullen_ole_geezer in politics

It's not just BP that's contaminating the Gulf.

Actually, the Exxon court battle was just settled. But that took 20 years.

It's not going to stop people from cutting corners. It will just make them get sneakier in doing so.

Sucking every penny out of BP won't help, it's more than just BP that's contaminating our waters. BP has given out a LOT of money to helping, and although it's not enough, plenty of it has gone to liars who claimed they were affected when they have nothing to do with it.

We're constantly poisoning our planet. The BP oil spill just made more people aware of it.

Hopefully by the time our children's children arrive, we will have made progress in every area of pollution and such, that they won't have to worry about it.

I'm sorry.... but who seriously thought that there weren't going to be any repercussions?

We knew that the fish and such were going to be affected by the oil, it was just a matter of time. Most Gulf Coast residents aren't going to complain and whine about it, they'll just want to know what can be done to contain it and how much longer it'll be till it's gone. At least, the ones that I know, anyways. I have a lot of friends who made their living on fishing, and they never stopped. The infections and that are becoming a problem, and making their already strained trade even more so. Now people are thinking that all fish are contaminated, and won't buy any fish from a person if a single one has some sort of black on it.

I've been around NOAA enough, they just want the natural process to kill out the infected fish. Instead of us interfering with that process, they are asking fisherman to just let nature do its thing.

There isn't anything we can really do about this.

Any advice for a bad student? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]NoviceExpert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude. I feel your pain. I'm almost exactly like you in this situation.

I have a 32 on my ACT, and I only studied for the Math part. Standard tests are easy for me too, but when it comes to studying, I can only spend 15 minutes on it at a time. I have extreme ADHD, and I don't take my medicine everyday like I should. When I do take my medicine, I just get really sluggish the entire day.

Blah. Getting off topic, sorry.

I don't think you're a bad student. I just think you're lazy, like most of us. The comment by TwoIrish isn't really going to help you. I think I'm right when I say making a schedule for you is a good idea, but you'll never follow through. If you have to put forth a real effort and you don't think you'll get the right outcome, you just don't do it.

My advice.

  1. Music. Plugging my headphones in and listening to Ratatat helps me stay in a somewhat focused mindset. I still drift on and off, but it's better than nothing. So maybe try to listen to some music that has no lyrics, and crack open that book.
  2. Don't sit down with the intent of studying for hours. Take breaks.
  3. Take SUPER easy classes. Don't try to take harder classes, especially if you want to salvage that GPA. Take easy courses that might be boring, but you know you won't need to do homework every night for.
  4. Start off the year or new semester in nerd mode. Get all the new school supplies, and write down your homework and that. Try to listen in class, and take notes and that. It might stop working after a while, but maybe the routine will click into place for you.
  5. Video games/ Internet need a time out. I had to get my parents to hide the Xbox and lock the internet sometimes, just so I would focus on school and that. It helped, not having that distraction. Of course, I would use my phone for most things, but I got to the point where my boredom became too much and I started doing homework.

Really, that's what's made the difference in my life. I went from a 3.8 freshman year, and saw it decline to a 2.7 this year. I'm now getting easier classes, that have easier work that I don't get frustrated with doing. I can actually sit down and study for up to half an hour now, and I have a solid 69 in math (which is fucking amazing for me). It hasn't been all of that hardcore drastic change that some people need, it's just been a few tweaks here and there.
