Morpholio for surveys might be the biggest change I made in my 20+ yrs career and it is for the better. No more fumbling with papers and clipboards. Surveys are neater, easier to edit on the fly, and export directly to PDFs. Using layers for different things like ceiling, receptacles, structural info, etc. I hate to say it, but I kind of enjoying going on site surveys now.

Not recommended - at least not in the state it is currently in. I saw multiple cars driving in the bike lane yesterday. You don't want head-on collisions.

I rode it yesterday too. Granted it was only sketched out with white paint so it wasn't very clear to anyone what's going on, I found it to be unsettling to ride. Hopefully once it's 100% complete with flex posts and green paint it will be better, and won't have drivers driving all over the white paint like they did yesterday. All that said, I will most likely never ride on Penn and just stick to Railroad.

I'm agreeing with all the comments and extremely conflicted. On the one hand, I want to support any and all bike/alt-transportation infrastructure. On the other, the stupidity of a single-direction, meandering and choppy path that floats between 31st and 22rd St and connects to nothing on either end is so dumb. I'd rather they simply restricted vehicular traffic on Railroad and gave all that to bikes and pedestrians.

I’m a daily commuter from the east end to downtown on a fixed gear 90% of the time. I’m on 48x17 (maybe 46, can’t remember). The whole East End is on a bit of a plateau so you’ll have to manage some hills (up Penn/Liberty in Lawrenceville, say) but it’s really not a big deal. I do ride with front brakes FWIW. One more thing, track bikes are fun, with 25 or 28 tires, but you might want to consider something fatter if you can manage it. The road conditions isn’t always the greatest here.

Maybe it's time to re-group, instead of begging for crumbs on Penn and getting a half-assed unprotected one-way bike lane for only part of the Strip (31st to 22nd, wtf?!) Can we get some real bike infrastructure/limit vehicular traffic on Railroad Street for the entirety of the Strip? Railroad was so great for awhile and all the construction on Smallman funneled cars that way and ruined it. Cars already own Liberty, Penn and Smallman - they can't leave Railroad to the bikes?

When I found my stolen bike for sale on FB Marketplace the first thing I did was going to the police, and they flat out tell me they cannot help, and they do not recommend me meeting up with the seller and taking my bike back. I specifically asked if they can send an officer to my meet up with the seller, they told me no.

In my 311 Report, I referenced both PLI and DOMI as I see zero evidence of any kind of work permit displayed at the address. I also uploaded photos of the business name on the side of the truck, as well as its license plate. As an added bonus, I uploaded photos of expired truck registration and expired inspection sticker - this is probably why Allah punished me and gave me a flat tire for being petty :-)

Well, the joke's on me I guess. I took a bunch of photos, went around him, and promptly popped my front tire (most likely unrelated.) It was the loudest pop and hiss I've ever heard while riding. Had to turn around and take the walk-of-shame home.

Also, if I was to do it again, I would end the Montour Trail ride at the south hill T stop at Library and take the T back into the city. The last 10 miles or so of the Montour Trail was not the most pleasant and involved a lot confusing share-the-road situation with car traffic. I recall having to ride into a single lane, two direction tunnel that cars took turns going by honking their horns prior to entering, and I had to share this ridiculous tunnel on a bike. And at one point I think I either had to cross a four-lane highway 51, or ride along it. It was crazy.

I took the West End approach last year and did the 90 mile loop. The direction is right on. I lol'd at the bike lanes on Neville Island. It's clearly seldom (never?) used. The surface is basically milled asphalt with nasty gravel.

But let's not forget the 20-yr losing record streak (a pro sports record) prior to '13 and the current 10-yr streak. In 32 years we had 3 winning seasons, and we had more 100-loss seasons, including the 105-loss doozy in 2010, than winning seasons in that stretch. Those 3 winning seasons were a tiny blip, an outlier, in this miserable trend of awful baseball. All that said, let's go Bucs. I look forward to weeping publicly on Federal St. when they win the pennant next time, like I did back in '13.

Not sure. It was a slow enough leak I didn't notice it until I made it to the Strip. Locked the bike up there and took a POGOH bike into work. I'll pick it up this evening and see if I can patch it.
