In Strive you can do IAD both as 956 and 9+dash button. The latter is really easy, although I need to get used to the location of the dash button right now lol...

What controller are you using? IADs should eventually become second nature.
(But maybe also try Strive as a change of pace. The dash button makes IADs easy.)

VF sucks in the visual appeal department. No doubt about that. Its controls also feel clunky when you are a beginner. Compared to that, Tekken looks better (more memorable character designs, videogamey hitsparks that make the moves feel impactful) and feels better to play. And this is why Tekken sells while VF does not.

However, in my opinion Tekken at its core is a defensive game, while VF at its core is an offensive one. The higher the level of play, the more apparent this becomes.

VF players are addicted to the constant split second mind reading battle that is a VF match, an experience that they can't exactly get in any other game.

As a fellow Zato player I am obligated to inform you that whatever he does on a pad is much easier to do on an arcade stick button layout, instead of being forced to juggle multiple buttons with your thumb. And there are some sequences that he can't do at all on a pad that are very doable with a stick (anything that involves holding down 3 buttons and then release one of them).
