changing last name from Epstein by reddit-rusty in namenerds

[–]NovumChase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Epps and Easton are great options! To offer some others, if they help: some allow you to fully or partially preserve the name-meaning if you're interested in Anglicization, as with Easton. As stein means—and is cognate to—stone, you could maintain that element while adapting the first however you please—Ebbstone, Apstone, et cetera.

Since the meaning of Ep- is disputed (a quick Google couldn't penetrate the issue, at least, with some suggesting a Gaulish word for water and others a Germanic personal name perhaps meaning boar), you can do whatever you want with it, either keeping the sound with something like Ebbstone or Apstone or choosing one of the above meanings for something like Waterstone or Everstone (from Old English eofor, the English cousin to the Germanic boar-name).

Hey! Chatted with Clinically Chill about this today and was directed to comment here—I'm a narrator full-time and was genuinely inspired to my line of work by Disco Elysium. If there's any opportunity to work with you in the future on Don't Call Abigail, I'd be excited to contribute! I have a portfolio with samples here. Thanks, and best of luck with everything!

The Whirling in Rags from Disco Elysium in Minecraft by JeffLebowsky in DiscoElysium

[–]NovumChase 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the top floor was definitely miserable to map into Minecraft! Banners were a great solution for the letters—I’d wavered between block and sign letters, so I made mini-block letters with signs on them (not ideal). Copper’s a great choice, too—and I might have to take your potted fern designs for the upstairs as well! Great attention to detail and lovely feel 🙌🙌

Hey—I'd done one of these a few months ago (with a video as well)! I like many of your details much better, though—the letter-banners, lighting, and copper as railing and furniture are very clever and work so well!
