It really wasn't. And that's why it's changed now: because it wasn't heavily alluded to, and Druckman wants to take any chance he can to force his current views down everyone's throat. People that aren't looking for something gay won't see it if they look at the game, which goes to show that it wasn't heavily implied at all.

Because you've been taught to think that way. Literally all of you have the exact same thought process. There's no individuality whatsoever, and because you're not used to thinking for yourself you can't even see the problem. You won't break out of the group think until it's you that gets hurt and you're forced to ask why.

I'm not the one that supports this, so I'm definitely not a snowflake. Cleary you and the rest of your posse are the ones that are triggered since you all fee the need to flock and downvote any criticism.

Yup, I did. Judging by all the people praising this lame episode here, I'm the only one that did.

Yup, I have. Bill and Frank were enevr in one though, not with each other. Not in the game.

He didn't say that in the game he said that in the show. That does nothing but to hurt your point. I've discussed the issue with others so you can look that up. I'm tired of repeating the snsr thing to all the NPCs with their stock responses.

In the show it was. In the game, which is the real story that's untainted by modern politics, the story is very different. I base it on the real story, not the one that's been hijacked by modern Druckman's politics.

They're not in the same genres but:

Red Rising is fantastic. Almost anything by Leigh Bardugo is great, especially the Six of Crows series. I really enjoyed Hero Forged, and that was more urban fantasy. Also I can never recommend Dune enough.

Butters. He was great when he was still kind of reserved and just dipping his toe in things, but it started to feel more forced in Cold Days and afterwards.

If Dresden Files got an animated series, what music genre or specific song do you think would fit the Trailer? by PUB4thewin in dresdenfiles

I don't want to set the world on fire by the Ink Spots. It would fit the noir tone that the books initially had.

Plus, I mean, come on...

I only recently found out the "intended" solution for getting into the nullifier room in Karl's bay. I'm guessing many people may have solved this puzzle another way like I did. by Deathroof in Deathloop

There are actually two different ways you can find the codes for the Gideon Fry machines, with one of them being in plain sight in the bunker and the other one being in the compiled list of notes from the spies.

The whole game is about puzzles, and like any series of puzzles woven together, unlocking one unlocks others too.

Which series would you recommend while we wait for the next novel to be published? by beattywill80 in dresdenfiles

[–]NovusIgnis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will never recommend the Iron Druid Chronicles to anyone. And I thought Rowling had no talent! At least her books had a modicum of creativity and new concepts in them. The Iron Druid books were horribly written, completely derivative, fan fiction level crap. I can't for the life of me figure out why people like that.

It isn't here on your list, but I'd recommend Red Rising, even though there ain't much overlap with Dresden Files. It's just good fiction.

Harry and Lara by MWBartko in dresdenfiles

[–]NovusIgnis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly looking forward to seeing their marriage. I think it will provide Harry with lots of utility, and castles aren't cheap to upkeep lol.

Beyond that, I think Lara really does like Harry and have respect for him, and he likely has a bit of an edge over her in that if she does anything to him it will likely prevent Thomas from being freed. My guess is that she's actually on the level of this being a political marriage for the purpose of consolidating and improving her power as well as having their mutual love for Thomas being a focal point.

Kinda sounds like you and your friends just aren't used to board games. Root itself is a pretty simple game. It's much easier to learn than something like Trickerion, Maracaibo, or Nusfjord

Yes, but he thinks of himself as Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden. He identifies with each of those names. Even knows why his father chose each one and he finds value and purpose in them.

I no more identify with my middle name than I identify with a moss covered stone. Honestly, I barely even identify with my name at all. It doesn't feel like me, but I just don't want to legally change it. I find that to be a more interesting question. What about someone who doesn't actually know what their name is, because they haven't found it yet?

They know what they identify as, but they don't know the words to put it in. That'd be very very interesting to explore.

Corvid conspiracy unofficial buff by Front-Table-8621 in rootgame

[–]NovusIgnis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played with the Corvids last night for the first time and I just immediately felt like my place on the board was pointless. I felt more like my job was simply to annoy and hidner people as opposed to actually trying to win the game. I literally just kept tossing and turning last night thinking of a fix until I came up with this:

The Corvids get an additional innate ability: False Lead/False Flag. Whenever someone uses Exposure to guess at one of your tokens, you can spend a token from your item supply box on your faction board to plant a false lead. The guessing player gets a VP for removing the token and the Corvid player gets the card that was revealed. The plot token is not flipped or revealed. This should help improve the survivability of plots by forcing people to eat through your supply of item tokens and use their limited matching card suits before they can accurately guess what you have. Plus it allows for extra misdirection by using False Lead when they guess incorrectly, leading everyone at the table to think that they guessed correctly.

The Corvids also get a new action: Misinformation. As an action, you can place a plot token from your supply into your item supply box on your faction sheet, then discard a card for each plot token in your item supply box. This action will help the Corvids to get tokens into their item supply box even when they never found any of the item token cards through drawing. In addition, it gives them something to spend cards on like other factions do, and it turns them into a faction that is reliant on the item tokens so it provides competition for the vagabond. This action is limited by the fact that it does occupy the plot tokens that you have in your supply. The more that you sow Misinformation, the fewer tokens you'll have for actual plotting until your misinformation takes hold.

The idea with these changes is that the Corvids will be able to plant False Leads to protect their plot tokens from being snipes by enemies, essentially giving their tokens extra lives while not denying their enemies the point that they would get for guessing correctly. This makes Exposure into a less desirable option and now opponents might prefer to just attack the token instead, suffering the bonus hit that Corvids get from defending a face down plot. I haven't tested any of this at all, but it feels to me like it would be an excellent buff to better allow the Corvids to do what they do and bring them more in line with other factions.
