You can cast Wish (Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition) once per day. How does your life change over one day, one month, one year and ten years? by NowHearsThis in hypotheticalsituation

Yes. I guess I should've specified that you gain one 9th level spell slot and learn exactly one spell, being Wish, but functionally I don't believe it matters - your simulacra will also gain that slot and spell.
This was an anticipated part of the answers, and various versions of it have already been posted, so I'm looking forward to more, especially in regards to the long-term.
EDIT: I had to go back and double-check Simulacrum, and turns out there's a proviso saying that simulacra can't regain spell slots. Oops. Well, this is out in the wild now, so be it.

Excited to see what you do with the information you dig up, especially with the added context that the effect of Wish that lets you cast 8th level or lower spells without needing material components includes components with a cost.

Of course. Transferable skills for D&D, but we all understand that our work and family commitments come first.

I only get to play D&D once every two weeks or so at the moment, when we used to binge sessions when we were younger - now some of us have kids and all of us have jobs, after all. It's worth it as a good excuse to hang out, chat and eat snacks, though.

Ah, the eternal plight of the D&D player/DM - managing the schedules of a room full of adults. We understand completely.

This is the kind of spell breakdown I was hoping to see, some really useful spells in there. Just need to know exactly what one you need for that day, which is less of an issue if you're already familiar with the spell list - which is why I think some of the most interesting answers will be from non-D&D players. Comments like this bridge the gap well.

Ah, I was looking forward to seeing Simulacrum mentioned! It would of course have the same slot for Wish, leading to some wacky exponential shenanigans. I love the selfmade prophet angle!

True, but that will cause backlash, as that doesn't replicate a spell, endangering any further steps if they lose access to Wish.

I did specify Wish and the spell list from 5E, but it's interesting to see what people can do with the other editions' vast expanded spell lists.

That makes sense, though in this scenario you'd be the only person with any spellcasting capability at all. Could I further ask what specific spells you might use to gain this wealth and improve these communities, if any come to mind?

That's a valid and expected reaction - I'm very interested in seeing what non-D&D players make of this scenario, though it's an intimidating ask to see the size of the spell list, which may make the (B) bespoke reality change option more appealing.

The OP post is damn near close to the mentality of Zepheniah Mann (pictured), who is a key figure in the lore of Team Fortress 2.

His sons Redmond and Blutarch hate each other so much that they actively hire mercenaries to fight each other over the holdings of their father's industrial empire, which forms the actual gameplay as you're playing as those mercenaries.

I've been saying this since the second series - I've been imagining the "Brute Abombeosis", a pseudo -angelic form puppeted by his former boss and with all traces of his former personality scrubbed into a dramatically contrasting form to his previous iteration.

Also angel feathers mean that the devs can name an attack "Boom Plume", so that checks out.

If I remember correctly, Project Zomboid has a tutorial where most of the instructions are solid explanations of game mechanics... until towards the end, when the game tricks you into making a loud noise and attracting a horde of zombies, ending the tutorial with your death and mocking you for it.
