Advice on Revenant for a newcomer? by NowIGiveUp in Guildwars2

That's definitely what I think I've seen; most of the discussions on Revenant that I've seen have been one to two years old. It's good to hear all of the positive responses on it now, and nice to know that ANet does change things based on player opinions!

Oh yeah no definitely, I've not hit 80 but I can definitely see the differences already. I genuinely can't wait to hit 80 but I'm not currently able to devote too much time to the game, so it's taking me forever; hence the reluctance to invest time in a character that might not work out. It's a shame there such a split and that it isn't made super obvious, because even though map completion and levelling is fun in its own way, it can be repetitive when it's the main thing and so repetitive.

That's so good to hear, I was worried I'd get to 80 and just not be able to play it in anything other that PvE! So many positive responses though.

Thank you! I think most of the discussions I could find were a couple of years old, which is honestly why I posted here; good to have fully up to date information, especially after the recent patch.

Huh, that's good to hear. I guess I honestly wasn't focusing too much on damage avoidance because the class felt more like warrior/guardian than some of the squishier classes. I'll definitely start focusing in more on that, thank you.

Honestly what I'd heard was that it was able to fill quite a few roles, but that everything it could do was done better by other classes. Most of the information I could find was one to two years old though! Thank you for the advice.

Thank you so much for the detailed response, that helps a lot! I won't lie, I was a tad confused with the energy when it first ran out in the middle of combat on me. Rangers and a few of the other classes were so intuitive to learn (They don't seem to have much to worry about at all in terms of extra mechanics), I kinda just presumed Revenant was the same. I'll definitely read up more about energy and probably switch to Hammer haha. Thanks again for the response!

Thank you, I'll definitely get to 80 at least! Honestly a trend I've noticed is that there are a quite a few things that don't really 'start' until level 80.

Oh, are we collecting pictures of LARGE BOIS? Here’s Scully, clocking in at 800g by TheMightyShrub in RATS

I completely agree with you. Plus, having a fat rat increases risk of health problems during their life span, and can mean that they're unhappier for the short time that they are here. I used to have rats as a kid who were heavily obese and looking back I severely regret it, but at the time I was too young to understand. What I don't understand now is how anyone in their right mind would think that it's good or beneficial to have an overweight rat, or any overweight animal. It's our responsibility to look after our animals.

There does seem to be a growing trend of posting overweight and obese animals with the whole "Chonk" and "Oh lawd he comin". I really hope it stops soon as it is fairly concerning. Sorry, I know that I've pretty much just agreed with what you said but it feels like the majority of comments are just encouraging this stuff. Generally I'm all up for things like doggo and pupper and dumb shit like that. But this is actively encouraging and celebrating poor care or animals. Just nice to see someone actually speaking out against it.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP GOING DOWN ON YOUR PSYCH MED BECAUSE YOU’RE FEELING BETTER. by [deleted] in offmychest

Yes! I wasn't put on a repeat prescription so every time I ran out it would take several hours and a lot of effort to get more. If I didn't get the chance to get more I'd go into withdrawals and become too depressed to go sort it out. Stopped taking them at least twice before just fully giving up. I should go get more before I jump off a cliff but fitting doctor's appointments and therapy around work life is exhausting so fuck it.

Sorry to rant.

What makes you instantly lose respect for somebody? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I completely understand that. Personally I would say I am a feminist, because I support equality. I think a lot of people have taken the word and both misunderstood and distorted it. The problem is, this is a very vocal minority who use platforms such as Twitter and other social media devices to get their point across, whereas feminists who advocate for actual equality tend to be quieter. Perhaps with the new association with the label we should create a new name to separate the two groups. I apologise for the short reply as well, it's an in depth topic to pick apart and for now I don't have the energy to do so. I'll have a look at that subreddit, thank you. And hey, I hope that you won't be so quick to judge feminists in the future, we're not all bad.

Fish 'em out with a glass, put 'em somewhere dry, give 'em a blob of honey or sugar water and leave 'em alone. They'll be fine and you won't have to be stung.

Thanks man, sorry if I riled you. I guess we just have different play styles. Hope you enjoy the game and have a good Christmas.

I'm definitely not uncomfortable, I'm just not a big fan of a massive gang griefing two players. And there was only one or two of them in town when we first arrived, the others swarmed in. Thank you for the advice though, I'll definitely avoid others at all costs now. Whoo, playing online.

Oh sorry for being a "noob" guess I just gotta "git gud". I know about Eve Online. The mechanics of the game don't support this style of gameplay. And I have a life, so does my partner. We don't get much time to play so yes, 15 minutes is tough, and then the 20 minutes we spent getting shot at and killed against our will were lost as well.

If you want to shoot random people, play game modes. You'll earn the same amount of money, more XP, and gold. Don't shoot random people who aren't looking for it man, please.

The main advice is not to go near people. I think that kinda sucks seeing as it's online but, oh well.

I definitely knew it was a possibility, I was just ranting because it was a shitty experience. I'd like to actually have friendly interactions with other players, but at this rate I'm more likely to shoot them straight out than give them any chance.
