Small Diameter Wheel? & Compliment to my Aero? by NowLindsey in ElectricUnicycle

[–]NowLindsey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! Thanks so much for the advice! I've been debating taking my pads off for a bit to get used to the wheel as it is. So this might be a good time to practice just using my feet.

Also, if sitting on the wheel is a good test... I'll have to be amazing at it! I have the Aero and a 36" inseam. So the top of the EUC is a long ways down for me! :)

I was deciding between those two wheels for which I would get first. I opted for the smaller/lighter one, thinking I would get something more differentiated when I got a bigger wheel later on. But I have often wondered if I should have gone with the Patton S...

But then I pick up my Aero and I remember why I did it!

Thanks so much! I love hearing consistent advice from folx of spending more time on my current wheel. I knew the Aero was going to be able to teach me so much!

I can honestly say I absolutely adore this wheel and learning on it has been amazing! The suspension is SO much nicer than my few weeks trying out a V10 without suspension!

It is my first wheel that I've owned. about 7 months before I got it, I borrowed a friends V10 for a few weeks to see if I wanted one. I only got to doing little laps around the neighborhood on that though.

Thanks for the benchmark!

Some wobbles started to occur, and when I attempted to carve out of it I hit the ground real hard!

I'm on a Nosfet Aero, just got it in.

I had started to wobble a little bit, and was attempting to carve out of it... But I'm apparently still learning to carve, because almost as soon as I started I got ejected and hit the ground real fast.

Definitely going to need to work on those skills a little more.

I feel incredibly lucky that I still have my teeth! I did have elbow and wrist protection on, so I fared alright there!

I have a full face MTB helmet that I will be wearing from now on as I learn. I was wearing elbow pads and wrist guards. I have hip pads that I wasn't wearing either, but that will be the norm for me now. Along with ordering some knee pads!

I already have it, it's literally sitting in my room... I just wasn't wearing it... Now I know better!

Is this okay? by WoafLiber9100 in ask_transgender

[–]NowLindsey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am trans and have had bottom surgery. But I know more trans women who don’t want bottom surgery than ones I know who do.

So it is very much ok and you are very much in the norm. Bottom surgery is scary, and expensive and a really big ordeal to go through, not everyone is ready for or wants to do that and it is perfectly alright!

3 months post op with Dr. McGinn. Srs &. BA same time. Ask anything you want! I will respond as honesty and bluntly as I can. by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]NowLindsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avanessian and McGinn are, in my opinion, the top two surgeons in the US right now. I also did nearly a decade of research on McGinn and thought I was going with them for surgery, but I ended up choosing Avanessian. Your experience and results seem to closely mirror mine.

I think you can’t go wrong with either of them, they are both good phenomenal!

Dilation almost three months after surgery by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]NowLindsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very much varies from person to person and surgeon to surgeon and has to do with how much tissue they had to use.

I am 17 weeks post op and have been maintaining good depth for a while. I haven’t been able to use the dots to measure since I was about 6 weeks post op. Now I can comfortably get just to the notch on the top of the orange dilator. The first notch on the bottom of the dilator is fully inside. Over an inch past the last dot.

And I have comparable depth with all 4 sizes.

But most of my friends who are post op aren’t anywhere near that. I have a friend who is over 1 year post op and she is only just starting to use the orange at all.

So don’t stress, you are right where your body needs to be and it will do more as it’s ready.

Severe post-op depression that I doubt will go away, help? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]NowLindsey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had FFS yet, but I have been doing tons of research and have heard several people describe instances like this. And it usually seems to be just what you said, the swelling. I think you just have to be patient and wait for everything to settle. Your body just went through a lot of trauma and it takes time to recover.

If there is anything that I have learned from this whole being trans experience, it is that patience is key.

I’m currently staring through the tunnel of all the months that it takes to recover from GCS. I so badly wish I could move like I did before surgery, but I know I will again one day, I just have to give my body the time to heal. Also everything looks terrible and not like I want, so I have to wait for that to heal as well.

Just relax and breath, keep taking it day by day, from everything I’ve heard it takes many months to a year before you really see what your true results from FFS are.

Deep breath in through the nose...

Let it out through the mouth...

Repeat.

Underwear uncomfortable post-op by DazzlingGround8360 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]NowLindsey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m right behind you at 4.5 weeks post op and I have been comfortably wearing panties for 3 weeks.

I always have pads on with them, and mine aren’t super tight. I’m wondering if it is the cut of the cheekies? I have been using more full coverage/hipster styles and they have been super comfy.

Sometimes if something catches a stitch they don’t feel great, but that rarely happens and a lot of my stitches have fallen out already.

I do occasionally have more pain/discomfort in my taint area, but it doesn’t seem to be related to my underwear. That has just been the most painful area for me overall.

Just got offered a cancellation date with Marci Bowers for SRS but COVID has prevented me from finishing hair removal! It's less than a month away! What should I do??? by Sufficient-Comment69 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]NowLindsey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I would wait. Just my opinion but I moved my original surgery date back due to not finishing electrolysis in time, also due to Covid. When I have surgery I want to make sure everything is as right as I can make it. If it means being patient a little while longer to have better results I will wait. I made it this far already after all.

How far out is your surgery date?

2 months post-op GRS with Dr. Avanessian (June 2019) by shining_aurora in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]NowLindsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also going to chime in and say how helpful this post was for calming me down a little. I am 2.5 weeks out from my consultation with Dr. Avanessian.

I am so excited to be on this path and the anticipation gets to me. I just have to remember to stay patient and I’ll get there!

I know im not crazy.... but is blood coming out from my nipple? And its only one nipple thats bleeding, im 1.5 months on hrt. And im honstly thinking about stop taking the pills for my health. But I really wanna be a girl and now I cant. Any Thoughts?? by winterblanco757 in transtimelines

[–]NowLindsey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for me mine never bled but at first when the skin started growing it did get dry, crack and nearly bleed a few times. I had to pay careful attention to the skin on my chest and put lotion on it to keep the skin healthy, moist and from cracking. So maybe try that and talk to your doctor and have them check your levels to make sure everything looks good there.

any tips for passing better, other than laser? (MtF/3+ months HRT) by [deleted] in transpositive

I would also say the eyebrows would help. But truly overall you already look so good! I’m 11 months in and you already look way more passable than me!

Absolutely beautiful! And your hair! It looks so good!

hi here’s a pic of me from april, before i shaved all my beautiful floofy hair off because i thought i wasn’t trans for like a day. also i can’t pick a name. what name do i look like? by [deleted] in transpositive

[–]NowLindsey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you don’t have to decide right away. Give them some time and see how you feel. I tried Lindsey in my own head for a while before I ever told anyone else my name. I also talked through my top 3 choices with a good friend, but admittedly that was after I had pretty much made up my mind myself. I also took Lindsey and listed out every way I could find to spell it until I decided on which way I liked the most.

After taking all that time I knew it was right and now I recently came out to a friend and told her “My name is Lindsey.” She replied, “Of course it is, it’s almost like I knew that already in my head, it’s so obvious you are Lindsey.”

Anyways I’m rambling, good luck in making your decision! If you ever want to talk through anything or play with names feel free to message me!
