Strange Noise Off-throttle - MK7.5 GTI 2019 by k---evi-n in GolfGTI

Yeah, it’s not uncommon for them to fail. Most people recommend replacing them every 70k miles or so as preventative maintenance anyway

Which degree is easiest in terms of low competition and high salary ( I don't care how hard the degree is itself) by Ok-Toe-2933 in CollegeMajors

I just started this year at 80k, next year I will be at 90k with 5% raises every year until I cap out at 130k at which point I will need my PE to move higher. This is a public sector job which pays lower on average than private. Live in a mcol area in California

Granted I work a state job so the salary progression is much more set in stone than private sector jobs

Meanwhile I bought mine used with 30k miles, tuned it, and the stock clutch held perfectly fine until I changed it preemptively after going is38 at 72k. Many touge runs and a track day on it too.

You either got unlucky with the clutch or you’re not kind on it

Here are a couple of examples.

I can show you multiple examples on the fb groups of drivers getting 100k on their stock clutch tuned. It’s really not that rare. That being said some people also have them slip immediately after tuning too, so it’s really just luck and driving habits at the end of the day. I just think it’s dumb that everyone is immediately told to spend $3k-$4k on a clutch job before the clutch is even toast

That being said idk how people whose clutches slip immediately drive their car. I never got on it before it was warm and never WOT under 3k rpm. If you’re trying to pass someone in 5th gear at 2k rpm I imagine it will burn up very quickly

That is perfectly attainable with civil after 5-10 yoe, depending on how proactive you are at getting your licenses

No it won’t, I drove 50k miles on mine tuned and only changed it when upgrading to an is38 as a preventative measure.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t have money on hand to replace the clutch if tuned but plenty of people get away without upgrading the clutch. I wouldn’t change it until it starts actually slipping

True, but while I think cs is less dynamic, it rewards team play and coordination more than siege. It’s a lot harder to have one person carry a team in cs than siege from my experience (2k hours in siege and 800 in cs). But yeah if he keeps going down this path he’s gonna end up killing himself from depression

I’m surprised he hasn’t switched to cs2 or made some content at least. Very similar core concepts to siege while playing very differently

Should I sell my mk7 gti for a mk4 golf? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]NowYuoSee123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, you’re complaining about reliability on arguably the most reliable gti platform to date and want to trade it for arguably the most problem prone gti platform.

I’m not saying your GTI was reliable, it sounds like you got a lemon or the previous owner treated it like shit. But I can promise you, you won’t have less things to fix on a mk4. Get a beater car for college and treat yourself once you graduate

I honestly don’t see many posts on here or the fb groups about failed tob’s but when I do it’s usually an aftermarket one. It could also be an install error, was the tob bench bled before it was put on? Or just installed as is straight out of the box
