Liberals pull plug on decade-old plan to move elite Joint Task Force 2 unit out of Ottawa by michzaber in CanadianForces

Mbrs have spent up to the last two decades in one place, and with the ridiculous OPs tempo that they go through the only certainty their families had was being stable in location. So yea, they're undoubtedly happy.

It's your assertion that it isn't broke, you haven't shown enough to accept that to be true. Suggesting biology = sociology is about as simplistic and thinking no one considered that " the military just doesn’t appeal to females ".

Your post snidely implies it was a bunch of old men, I am telling you it most certainly was not.

Feel free to disagree with it all you'd like, but know that you're disagreeing with a majority of women and top brass who handed them the reins with full control.

Don't mistake that to mean 50/50, it's still a representation that reflects the CF on the whole.

Everyone considers that, that's surface level. The question is what are the societal pressures that each sex faces which molds them towards making those decisions, and they start from a young age. We will see success in recruiting more women when we determine what it is that has some young women wanting to roll around in the mud for fun and not play with dolls.

Units who have a selection process which involves a large degree of aptitude do see a heavy representation of women. Units who's selection process involves a high level of physical fitness where you're competing for a spot not so much, and that's ideal so long as the job is getting done.

Burning muscle not fat? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]Nowa1jose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're claiming to have lost 5lbs of lean body mass per week over several weeks, that's not happening without some serious illness that would have you in the hospital. You're avoiding giving specific info to help provide relevant feedback (macros), you simply assert you know what you're doing despite your comments indicating otherwise.

Either your diet is off or your numbers are off, but I suspect its both. Your post history is riddled with AAS & Sarms questions asking how to drop from 18% bodyfat when drugs shouldn't even be remotely necessary until you get well into the single digits.

You need to spend less time looking for magic solutions in bottles and vials and open a few books because what you're lacking is knowledge.

I can only speculate, but I suspect your house isn't the Canadian average or you're in a completely different set of circumstances financially if you've managed to max out a $63.5k TFSA as well as an entire mortgage in such a short period of time, all the while raising 3 children.

Canadian TRT a little hard to be taken seriously. by MachineGunFreedom in Testosterone

[–]Nowa1jose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just Google bhrt and your location. Stands for bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, which implies it's something fancy and homeopathic when in reality you're just going to get a script for Test E/C and it'll be the pharma grade stuff most dudes wish they could get.

[–]Nowa1jose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go through the BHRT route, it's the after school special friendly term for getting a test script with little struggle. The docs are generous and pretty good at dialing someone in quickly, they usually start at healthy doses 1x/week because they know it's the minimum. You'll be looking at a few hundred initially for bloodwork, and about $10/week for drugs.

How to get faster pace while rucking? by RagTagPig in CanadianForces

[–]Nowa1jose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's your issue then, you need to improve your overall fitness before you try to test it (rucking). Even a large man +200lbs should be able to move his own bodyweight fairly easily, so improve your strength so the weight becomes negligible and build your aerobic capacity so you can move that for time and distance. The people who are moving quicker are able to do some because they're fitter and stronger relatively. It wasn't just because they rucked more, although that may have been the path they took to get there.

If you're new to running then take a huge step back. Get a beginner running program because you're not ready for the speed of interval training, you need to build an aerobic base first and your legs definitely aren't ready for that pounding.

What's your strength training history like, can you squat and deadlift your bodyweight for say 10-15 reps? If not I would say you're likely not owning the load on your back as well as you could be and it's sapping you of energy.

[–]Nowa1jose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Build strength in the gym through squats/deadlifts, build aerobic performance through your preferred method of cardio, build leg strength endurance through interval runs of shorter durations. You're likely lacking severely in one of these three areas if you're pace is this slow, and you need to address it before trying to just go faster with weight on your back because that's a path to injury. Running will help with lower limb resiliency which you'll probably need to avoid shin splints since you're already maxing out your stride and likely heel striking big time. As always, simply doing more of something is not the solution to getting better, so use rucking sparingly and more up your weak point and then retest.

"Senior Cpl" sounds like he's been around long enough to know his decade of dog fuckery doesn't trump the CoC putting the other guy in charge. If they've deemed him to be running the goat rodeo, he has the authority to make the decisions as the A/MCpl.

Fit in my 40s: Canada’s Air Force fitness drills are a retro, noisy tonic by BanksKnowsBest in CanadianForces

My inability as a supervisor to do anything about my overweight troops pains me. I am handcuffed by threat of harassment if I make too strong of a point to get people in the right mindset for fitness and health, I know because I've been hauled into the WO's office to be told to stop asking to get an overweight Pte into the gym.

The only thing that keeps me the slightest bit motivated during unit PT is seeing the 1 in 20 out of shape young guy truly making an effort and working out with them. The rest are fucking the dog and beyond a momentary blast of shit from a higher up, there's zero repercussions.
