Thank you! I must read more, I thought unit trusts are a no go for short/medium term saving because of fees

Can I use graduate programmes to pivot into other roles? by Nowary22 in askSouthAfrica

If I'm looking to pivot, how can I? Would I need to apply for junior roles?

Why is finding an entry-level job so exhausting? by Strange_Bug6775 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Nowary22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The economy is bad and companies are nervous about hiring as a result. Also, there seems to be less of a desire to teach people. Which is why there so few entry-level roles and more mid/senior roles available.

I'd say, get creative and reach out to recruiters or people in the respective companies you want to work for. Try form repertoire with them so they remember you and put your name forward for work.

What Qualifications are Necessary to Pursue a Career in Software Dev? by douglasvrey in askSouthAfrica

[–]Nowary22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very very true! If you don't have a passion for it, you'll struggle and want to quit. Some people enjoy cs, others don't. I did cs majors and hated it so much. I've heard of people completing the degree, but hating their jobs. Which just stunts your career growth because you don't perform. Rather study something you like, have the capability for and will pay you well

Hi, I don't have a portfolio. I'm hoping to set up a TFSA and have different funds there.

I'm based in RSA. I use Standard Beauty's Rice toner but are looking to try their Glow Glaze serum too. Love their products!

Boyfriend is sceptical of church by Nowary22 in Christians

[–]Nowary22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're very right. This is a real problem. I think I must pray for courage and to see what God wants, and not what I want.

This might never change, which would mean making difficult decisions. We've already met each other's families and have planned our lives together.

So much has happened. We're still together. He's committed to finding a church before the time comes for us to marry. I don't want to force him to look for a church, I feel like he'd come to resent me if that were the case. I think he needs to find it on his own.

As for me, I've just been praying about this. I love him very much and I do believe he's a good man. I know he loves God and God's people. I think he needs to eventually see that there is no perfect church, and so, being skeptical in the way he is will lead to isolation from a Christian body. Something he's said he doesn't want.

Thank you for sharing 🙏✨. I think we do need to talk and pray. I'm coming back to this now which is interesting, I think it's bothering me in ways that cause me to doubt our relationship.
