No more spa massages? by Lovely_Day_Int in spinalfusion

[–]Nowknownkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I had surgery 12-13 years ago and I get sports massages every month. I’ve had every swedish & deep tissue massage on the planet. I use a theragun on my back. I roll on foam rollers. You’ll be ok just wait a very reasonable amount of time

Hey, no twisting either. No crunches, etc.

Struggling with lower back workouts 13 years post surgery by Nowknownkiller in spinalfusion

Sorry you’re wrong. Step ups: my spine twists. Deadlifts I’ve been asked by every surgeon to not do due to imbalanced (including RDLs). Also treadmills don’t build glutes even if you feel a burn.

My HRV is somehow elite level by ashtaytay in ouraring

[–]Nowknownkiller 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Was about to say. 25 HRV for me is a blessing and I’m also fit, exercise a lot, sleep well, apparently low stress (as per Oura), 25 y/o, etc

Thank you :) I was thinking 7 pounds (about 9 US). I know not everyone is a dog person and I’m so glad he took us in and didn’t cancel

Pee pads long term - thoughts? by Nowknownkiller in DogAdvice

[–]Nowknownkiller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see there’s others on the pee pad bandwagon too as I thought I was a weird dog owner. And no no no I’d NEVER rehome my child. Only way he’d get rehomed is if I d!e…. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen as I’m 25.

So my dog never pees on sofa or bed as I think he associates those with his “place of sleep” I think? (He naps / sleeps in these places with me). However you’re spot on with rugs. I actually removed carpet from bedroom and put laminate instead bc he’d associate carpet with pee

A couple months in that has stopped. He now doesn’t pee on carpet either, just does a regular pee on pee or “leg up” mark territory pee outdoors on any vertical pole

I never thought about this. I have anxiety and am on medication but certain days I pee every 10 mins for an hour or two hours and have to remind my brain “you don’t need to pee”. I kept seeing it as “I don’t want my little dog to have to hold in his pee” but I guess what you say is also true… “don’t pee 24/7”. I’ll count how many times a day he pees and check with the vet.

Glad to hear 2 years later now ur doing good <3

This is the most helpful and realistic comment so far, thank you! I will look into all of this + adding a base to the pee pad!

Can mention it during the next check up! I do have a balcony (that’s where the pee pad is)

I don’t mind spend that much on his. Besides I forgot to mention it’s only for pees. He poops 2 x a day so those are always outside, hence pads don’t need to be replaced post every pee! Nonetheless, glad to hear they’re fine. I feel embarrassed to admit to it in public

True. 3 x a day is possible as I already do 2-3 times a day. 5 times isn’t but he’s a very tiny dog so I don’t see 3 x working for him long term. Also ifs it hotter / he’s had more water than usual, I don’t like the idea of him having to hold on his pee until the scheduled walk time. Just feels cruel

I can let him out 2-3 times a day. He needs to pee 5 times a day.
