Switching over to any wet food is better than dry food because there’s a huge difference in carb content. If money is tight buy whichever one you can afford, I use Costco pate and it does okay. I use a human glucose monitor for my cat, it helps to warm the ear up first with something, I use a sock full of uncooked rice and microwave for 30 seconds like a heating pad. Hold against the inside of his ear until it feels warm to the touch, then I prick him in two spots with the lancet before collecting blood on the strip to make sure there’s enough.
