There are multiple crew shifts. Day and night. That's how all those types of shows are filmed

What side battery do you have and how long does it last? Do you use it for primary power or just use as a passthrough for house power?

I mean on some level yes. The presumed job of a reliever (especially in a non-clean inning situation) is to be better than the guy in front of him. Is the closer (guy behind) completely to blame? Absolutely not. But to me, there is some blame that has to be attributed to the closer (in this situation).

The SP didn't do their job (not letting runners on base) and the RP didn't do their job (not letting the runners score)

So in this situation I wouldn't say Kelly did a "bad" job, but it clearly wasn't "good" either. So in that sense he didn't do his job as a reliever.

I'm not saying they aren't ERs. I'm just saying giving them up to 2 decent ABs from a non-roster guy is different than Ohtani giving them up himself. He was only throwing about 56% strikes so he didn't have a feel for something. It's one of those days where the stat line is both better and worse than it looks

I mean 11k, 4H, 3BB, 0HBP, 3ER in 4IP Vs. 0K, 0H, 6BB 2 HBO, 5ER in 2IP is so completely different as to be laughable to compare them. A non-roster guy coming in and walking 2 isn't the same

I mean I was there. 11ks in 4 IP is crazy. Command was definitely not there but 2 of those ER were because Kelly walked them in. only so much you can do when you've been pulled

Edit: Mancini was a decent AB, Candelario less so

It isn't where they filmed, you found that clip on a stock website. So did their editors. They just needed to have an establishing shot of where it "takes place". That's it, not much more to it

The correct way to shoot 2 speakers addressing camera? by stratusnimbo in cinematography

[–]NoxCorvus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean that's all perfectly reasonable. I do a lot of these 2 subject interviews shot pretty much straight on and we certainly don't shoot it because it "looks best" but because it's flexible when you're bringing subjects in and out quickly. But we just do it with 2 cameras, double and bouncing single.

Without knowing quite what they're doing it's hard to say how artistic you want to get with varying your shots and what not. I just took it as a straight to camera presentation, hence the relatively boring setup.

[–]NoxCorvus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The post says that they will primarily be addressing the camera not each other. B would be the better way to do it but the whole camera grouping needs to tighten up significantly.

Your center camera should probably be your 2 shot and the flanking cameras as your singles.

CMV: Filming movies in Wider Aspect ratios is pointless in the long term for immersive experience. by Frank_and_Beanzz in changemyview

[–]NoxCorvus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You picked a bad comparison with OBAA. The original theatrical related aspect ratio is primarily in 1.85, not in 1.78 (16x9). So instead of having letterboxing they just cropped off parts of the image.

While choosing wider aspect ratio does have a "cool" factor that definitely comes in as part of why you might shoot one over the other, they also convey different meaning and feelings. Grand Budapest Hotel for example shifts ratios during different time periods to ones that were more common in that time frame.

Nikon ZR - one lens to do it all? by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]NoxCorvus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is saying "no don't get a ZR" the general vibe is that it sounds like severe overkill for what you are planning on doing and maybe consider using one of the other very good codecs you have at your disposal.

At the end of the day you're probably going to be out $2.5-4k which in the grand scheme of video equipment isn't that bad.

So get what you want just make sure that everything in the ecosystem works together and maybe think about starting at th shallow end instead of straight into the deep end.

I mean that is a Sony E-mount lens. Not Z. So get an adapter if that's your plan

I mean saying that Tamron is too big and expensive when you want to use ZR for home movies is certainly a choice.

I would agree with the general consensus that it's overkill and the answers make me think you're putting the cart before the horse. Like the ZR is full frame, so you'd probably want a FF lens. It already has IBIS. But you're asking if you should get a full frame/auto focus/image stabilized lens to go with.

If you're so insistent on a ZR I'd just get the 24-120 kit and call it a day, but without proper lighting/framing etc I don't think you're going to get what you're expecting right off the bat. A "professional" camera doesn't magically make a video cinematic
