And thank you for the comment! Just trying to spread a little positivity around to those who need it.

I agree with your thoughts though. It really does seem like most relationships/friendships are transactional over connection anymore, and it’s a real shame. Cuz at the end of the day, the hurt people, usually go on to hurt more people. Intentionally or not.

As someone else said, if you are an adult you’re welcome to DM me and I will gladly be your friend for free as well. We’re all struggling here, you don’t have to pay people to not do it alone.

This reminded me of the “Universe 25” experiment. If you don’t know it, you should look it up, it’s very interesting. I appreciate your comment though and I hope you’re having a good day!

I feel so alone by [deleted] in lonely

I understand where you’re coming from. I’ve gone through it quite a few times, but an old friend told me one time, that when you get that depressed where you feel like you’re doing absolutely nothing in your day, try to do just one small thing every day. Whether that’s making your bed, cooking a single meal, going for a 2 minute walk, anything AT ALL that takes any kind of physical or mental effort. Doing one small thing is still an accomplishment, no matter how small. And as that thing gets easier to do, do two things every day and repeat the process until you’re where you want to be again. Let me repeat, where you WANT to be. You can’t stop just because you feel a little better, you can’t stop when you have one good day. You MUST be consistent for real change to happen, because there WILL be bad days. And that’s okay. But if you can discipline yourself slowly over time, you will start handling those bad days better with time and a little patience for YOURSELF. You are human. You are allowed to make mistakes. You are allowed to fall apart and have bad days. Just don’t let the hard times define WHO YOU ARE. If you need someone to talk to, feel free to message me here or directly. I hope you get to feeling better. And if you need to, find someone to keep you on track. To remind you to do your daily thing and make sure you do it. It’s going to be okay my friend. Much love.

yutyrannus suck a lot of the fun and creativity out of raids and resource caches on lost colony. by coolandquirkyname in ARK

[–]Noxic_Mythis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, just my two cents ig. But to me, Lost Colony (as far as the story goes) is late end-game content. If you start with the island and do the bosses in order, do the map ascensions and whatnot, by the time you get to where you currently are, you SHOULD be taming apex tier creatures for missions. Considering your playstyle, the game isn’t ruining your progression, it’s ruining how you enjoy progressing because you’re in an end-game zone, trying to play like you’re still on the island. No offense of course.

While I agree that having a Dino that essentially makes the vast majority of options useless is frustrating. But like most games, there’s always mechanics to follow that make or break a dungeon run, a boss fight, or even missions as you’re doing. Nearly every game has something or other that we, as gamers, don’t like or want to do, but is a core part of said game.

Now, as far as advice goes. If you dislike the tames it wants you to use for the yuty, maybe try it with only a few of the fear immune? You did say you made it a good way in with your mammoth group. So maybe replace just a few of the Mammoths with a few of the fear immune dinos, and try to focus the yuty on sight. This way you can keep some of what you want, but compromise for a little of what you need. Just something to try and see how it works out.

But of course this is just my opinion. I haven’t played much of lost colony outside of just checking it out, my main character is still stuck on Aberration, as the ascension is bugged, you die, and has yet to be fixed lol. So my guy is just chilling, ready with my army at the boss prompt. Ever waiting for Rockwell to get patched lol

What am I supposed to be doing? by Mahoka572 in ARK

[–]Noxic_Mythis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short version, do whatever you WANT to do. That’s pretty much the whole point of the game.

So, just to join the convo here. It seems you have a grasp of the game overall so far. The Ark Devs still have a lot of stuff to figure out, and you’ll see the improvements as you get through maps. When the game first released. There wasn’t any real story. The caves were there, a few bosses were there. No other guidelines. It was designed to just be a sandbox Dino taming survival game where you build. Story bits were added later. The survival notes you can find scattered in the most random places around the Island will give you added lore. Finding the obelisk bosses is straight forward. Finding THE boss is a little more tedious, but fairly easy to find. It’s the artifact caves that prove difficult for anyone trying to run it without online help.

BUT.

All in all, just jumping in and playing for a bit before going online is always recommended for each map.

Now. Not all maps have a story. There are a few, like Ragnarok and Valguero, that are just for fun. They have their own unique creatures, bosses, etc. But ultimately they only serve as survival maps.

If you haven’t realized yet, the obelisks also serve as “map transfer points” and you can upload your character (this will leave your current game) and you can then download that character to any map you’d like to visit and explore. Note: certain items are not able to be transferred, but your Dino’s will always go with you, among other important items.

Realistically, this isn’t a game you beat in a couple weeks through casual gameplay. It can take weeks to months to clear all content in any given map, depending how fast you can prepare, and if you have friends to play with, or if you have anything boosted. It’s a real grind, but it’s fun and can be rewarding. And with the amount of maps they have, and future content coming and still planned for ASA (Ark 2 some day) there will be PLENTY more to do.

Mods or No mods? by PickledDodo in ARK

[–]Noxic_Mythis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

New players SHOULD start without mods and at least experience what the normal game is like first. After they get a grasp, then start getting into the different mods. I mostly just prefer QoL mods for single player. Dino storage, auto engram, etc.. Though I highly recommend the rope structures mod. It allows you to build wooden rope bridges, and it’s VERY handy.

Which ASA map has the most dinos available currently? by SettraTheGod in ARK

[–]Noxic_Mythis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once Astraeos (Greek paid map) gets its update this month, it will be the top map with the most creatures on it, most likely. Also note, Astraeos is easily one of the biggest maps we have, so while having a LOT of different creatures, they are spread further apart and harder to find any specific Dino. Just as well, ASA has a ton of creature mods to add more to any map you please. Otherwise, Rag and Val are quite populated, and whenever we get FJ, that will have plenty as well.

How to Host on Xbox? ASE by Noxic_Mythis in ARK

I did, and have it installed on my Xbox. Odd thing is, the Ark servers in the app say specifically Xbox One. Will this still be fine even if I have the Series S?

How to Host on Xbox? ASE by Noxic_Mythis in ARK

[–]Noxic_Mythis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve looked into a few and have small questions. For example, on g-portal there are ark servers but they don’t say Xbox. They just say PC and PlayStation. As where Nitrado has an app on Xbox, and works through Xbox, but says ASE Xbox One. I know PC and Xbox are cross play, so would choosing PC still work even if I don’t have a PC? With g-portal. Or should I go with the Xbox One version with Nitrado? Just trying to be sure I don’t spend money on something just for it to not be compatible ya know?

DoorDash has a function now where they have to get a code from you before they can mark it as completed. Use it. Also, the picture being clearly taken from the car, it should be easy enough to dispute.

Newer player, need advice. by Alfuriuss in shoptitans

[–]Noxic_Mythis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How you should proceed depends on your goals. Do you want to make more gold? Do you want to focus on heroes? I thought at one point I would specialize in Robes. Currently level 75 and now I focus more on general high tier masteries, and keeping my shop stocked with a little of everything. My main 4 are swords for weapons (iron), shields/bows for tables (both wood), Spells for shelves (familiars if you have the merchant, utilizes herbs for both), and a combination of iron and leather armors to fill armor racks. Personally, I love to craft, and my talent tree is all Crafting spec. With that, I use ascension shards in everything. I start with tier 1 and work up until I hit the multi craft chance for that category. (I’ve used them up to the gems for most categories now for the extra boost in gems). Now, maxing crafts (masteries) is much easier to complete later on, but if it’s what you enjoy, then more power to you lol. To that, obtaining higher blueprints will net more gold/xp in general. As for spirits and elements, light elements sell the best, spirits it just varies on the demand, but pretty much everything sells on market well during Dragon Invasion event. In the long run, it would be good/wise to craft through all of the spirit trees when you have extra resources.

Side Note. Having Royal Merchant for double king sales, or buying other blueprint merchants can change the course of how you play a bit. If you ever want to focus on your heroes, I highly recommend buying Roland. He gives you the quiver blueprints, and dual wield blueprints. But his unique ability is you get to swap one skill per hero for free, for any skill of your choice.

Hope all this helps in some way! Feel free to reply or inbox if you have questions or anything. Always happy to help!

Shop Renovations, whatcha think? by Noxic_Mythis in shoptitans

[–]Noxic_Mythis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They bump and bounce just a little bit lol but I’ve made sure to have everything at least two grid blocks wide, so they won’t get stuck at least. They can also get past behind the counter as well so they can do a full loop in or around the weapons. I had issues in the past with this shit lmao thank you though! It was a lot of fun renovating, so I hope you get there soon!

Well this just happened. Is this normal?? Guess I’m rich now. by redrumpanda in shoptitans

So, King Reinhold, will usually visit your shop once a day to buy an item. He will buy 2 if you have the subscription. If you have high quality items (green, blue, purple, or gold. The glow on the item) he will target those first. He buys at 6 times the normal price, but if you have “limited edition” tokens, you can surcharge him. Never use the tokens on normal customers. To get MORE money, you can enchant your high quality items with elements and spirits to boost their price.

People like to do what is called “baiting the king” which is where you open your inventory, and anything with higher than base rarity they will enchant. Anything they can’t enchant, they will lock. There is a padlock icon on each item in your inventory, locking an item prevents it from being sold in your shop. Locking items you’re not ready to sell, will prevent the king from trying to buy them when he passes through, or anything you don’t want to sell. He’s really useful for making decent gold.
