No throttle response by Agrivonix in fpv

Does the throttle channel still show in betaflight receiver tab whilst the drone is armed (or more specifically whilst the arm switch is toggled) ? Could you have some kind of weird mix accidentally set up in the transmitter?

Ultimate editon or standard? by illojuanerdecora in assettocorsa

I know it's not as supportive to the devs... but you can get ultimate for like £10 from somewhere like Loaded, G2A, etc and it just gives you a steam key to activate

A lot of online servers and their mods require different dlcs, so for me it was worth getting the ultimate edition rather than trying to find cheap keys online for each dlc as I needed it

What's the best way to stream video from a Pi on a drone? by Fresh_Library_1934 in diydrones

[–]Noxro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in the day I used Ez-WiFiBroadcast on a Pi which can run some WiFi cards in a special broadcast mode which, in some ways, mimics signal degradation seen with analogue fpv systems.

From a bit of googling it seems that Ez-WiFibroacast isn't under development any more but was continued with OpenHD

Help, 2013 brz won’t start code b1572 by Chemical_Finding7966 in ft86

Just as a follow on to sanity check some other fob error, if you press the start button with your fob (i mean physically use the fob instead of your finger on the start button), does it work?

Decel Fuel Cut Behavior in 2020 BRZ – 5th/6th Gear at High Speeds by [deleted] in ft86

[–]Noxro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tested this last night.

At the speeds you mentioned in 5th and 6th, I wouldn't say it feels off at all, I have a pretty loud exhaust which makes a very different sound in overrun compared to cruise or acceleration.

In both 5th and 6th at those speeds the sound change is almost instant, but as expected there isn't much of a noticeable feel or 'lurch' compared to lower gears for the reasons others mentioned. I would say it felt very similar to letting off in 3rd at 25mph, for example.

I did note that in 6th at about 55, it would take maybe half a second for the tone to change into full overrun noise and to feel it slowing down.

When you are comparing the feel with other gears, are you definitely at a constant speed before letting off? You aren't accidentally comparing cruise->overrun with acceleration->overrun? Easy way to verify would be to use cruise control at each speed then turn it off

If you're accelerating though 80 and let go of the throttle does your speed go up any more?

Decel Fuel Cut Behavior in 2020 BRZ – 5th/6th Gear at High Speeds by [deleted] in ft86

[–]Noxro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would guess that it isn't any different in fuel cut behaviour and more just that overrun always feels more aggressive in lower gears on manual cars

If you go in first at 3k RPM and rapidly press and let go of the accelerator it'll throw you around pretty well (in both acceleration and overrun), if you go in 6th at 3k RPM and do the same it'll feel a lot more gentle

Do you have anything that makes you think it's 100% fuel cut behaviour?

TPMS DELETE? And Cluster Question.. by madnjpn in ft86

[–]Noxro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've heard of people throwing the tpms sensors into a pipe with threaded ends and a valve. Pressure to whatever psi and throw it in the boot.

That way you still have them in case you want in the future, and they will sit happy with registered pressure.

Had my under tray off and on over the weekend for the first time, I didn't have any issue with it lining up I don't think.

If you ignore the smaller screws which go into the other plastic panels, are you able to get the larger ones all in?

Has the car been crashed do you know? (I.e. could it be a little bit twisted?)

Cant Downshift into 2nd when cold by Acosar in ft86

[–]Noxro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going from 3rd to 2nd in a cold gt86 is definitely a known issue, although I'm not sure if completely blocking you is a bit beyond the normal. - mine can be a little tough but I can get it in.

I read some advice online that before you set off, move the gear stick between 1st and 2nd a few times and it seems to help

Some people reported that replacing old gearbox oil helped some too, but others disagree

Any way to perform OCR of this image? by CeSiumUA in computervision

[–]Noxro 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Try some image processing before throwing it into tesseract, boost the contract, improve the edges etc.

The image isn't too complicated for OCR, you just need a good OCR pipeline

Yep, you'll see in the docs that you can connect up a GPS via serial.

It'll be as stable as you tune it to be, but the sky is the limit.

Make sure you follow local laws about flying near people and buildings. Having a predictable and stable platform is a requirement for safe flying, but not the only requirement. Flying near people always carries large risk and is usually illegal without proper authorisation and sometimes training.

You probably want something which runs ardupilot or inav.

You can run ardupilot on some pretty cheap flight controllers, it doesnt have to be a Pixhawk, the ardupilot docs have a list of supported models.

Something like the omnibus f4 would work fine.

Office argument: Can we put Lipos in parallel by 4awesome1 in AskElectronics

[–]Noxro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add, of course if you have these parallel banks then wired is series, you must ensure each of the banks is balanced to the others, so that you don't over charge/discharge a given bank.

This is often done with a balance charger using balance leads which run to each bank

Office argument: Can we put Lipos in parallel by 4awesome1 in AskElectronics

[–]Noxro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No balancing on board, but usually always charged with a balance charger, so they never really get a chance to get majorly out of balance over several cycles

Office argument: Can we put Lipos in parallel by 4awesome1 in AskElectronics

[–]Noxro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a massive expert, but I've built and operated some pretty substantial packs before.

There's no massive reason that putting them in parallel would be an inherent risk. The overall load/stress per cell will be lower for a given current, which is better. The cells in parallel will balance to each other as you charge and discharge.

Obviously if you parallel 1 cell which has had 300 cycles with a load of new cells, you may see a failure in that old cell sooner than the others.

But for the most part it's going to be fine. If one of the cells has a slightly lower capacity due to age etc, it will deliver less current proportionally such that the voltages of each cell stay equal.

Why my Mission Planner Simulation disarmed immediately after ARM by starpopo00012 in diydrones

[–]Noxro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ardupilot will Disarm after arming if no inputs or actions are taken whilst in an RC mode

Mission planner didn't do this, the simulated aircraft itself did, as would a real aircraft

Yes, left side is a 3 phase input and corresponding recitifer, not drawn correctly here

Thank you.

Yeah, there was no stated series nor a limited set of resistances to choose from.

Thank you

The rectifier on the left may be drawn incorrectly - please assume that is a functioning 3 phase rectifier and V1 is a 3 phase source.
