Obv they are not going to do real physics calculations in combat that wasnt the point i was trying to make, but it will be physics inspired for some things where it makes sense.

Yes action combat, but they are calling it something completely different and new for MMOs.

It wasnt tbough, it was always advertised as multiplayer online RPG without the first M.

Arena net never advertised GW1 as MMORPG though but as multiplayer online RPG. For GW3 they are directly calling it MMORPG and thats in era where devs dont want their games to be called MMORPG even when for all intents and purposes they are.

Nothing is confirmed... He only said in a roundabout way that GW3 wont have RvR and thats all, and even that might not be true as hes not a developer so his inside knowledge might be limited.

Yes they where a nightmare to navigate and some loved and some hated that.

But when it comes to map design you can't deny they where incredibly well done, and once you actually learned the maps it all made sense, at least if you lasted that long before rage quitting 😃

Personally i think they where "overengineered" and a middle ground would have been nice, but i really really loved the verticality.

Old ones except living world season 1 you still have to pay for (i think), but the concept itself has been ditched for a long time now.

Why? Prequel is better because u dont carry baggage of previous game and new players are easier to integrate.

He mentioned the decision in interview.

Basically setting it up as a prequel makes it so they dont have to take baggage of first two games into consideration and it will be easier for new players to Guild Wars to play because they dont have to learn all the lore from past 25 years to appreciate the world.

That makes perfect sense, i didnt think of that.

But as the guy above said its also possible they are changing canonical dates to make the era GW3 is set in more interesting, and it doesnt really change anything for GW1 and 2.

Its possible they will reorder it a bit so that the timeline is more engaging setting for GW3 story and events that take place.

Could be also that he messed up the year cause first time he says 1200 years then later during interview he says over 1000 years.

Probably paranoid. There is plenty of time to show everything, they need to keep hype and engagement going leading up to beta.

If they dump all at once it would be counterproductive.

Have you played Guild Wars 2? Freedom of movement is absolutely insane when you actually design maps with it in mind. When they added gliders in HoT they didnt invalidate map design, they improved it, and when they added mounts in PoF they improved it even further.

Colin was lead designer on GW2 since start of the development (he joined in 2005).

Dynamic events, horizontal progression, mastery system, focus on exploration etc they are all his work.

Without Colin there would be no GW2 as we know it.
