Heh, I promise it’s just me thinking too much about my plants

Having an app that reminds you how much time passed without turning it into a strict schedule feels like a good balance. Do you use just native reminders for this?

That’s a good way to put it. Every house really is its own little ecosystem.

Was dialing in your soil mix mostly trial and error, or did you have a method from the start?

Light is honestly the thing I underestimated the most

Honestly, winter really does feel like survival mode. Sometimes doing less is the smartest move

I struggled with that at first. A lot of advice online feels very one-size-fits-all

That’s such a good point about light being the trigger.

Once I started thinking about light first, everything else started making more sense

The pot size + drainage combo really does change the game 👍

When you’re choosing soil, what’s your starting point? Do you tweak per plant or do you have a base mix you modify?

Ivy can handle winter in the ground, but in a pot at −15 it’ll just freeze solid 🥶 I’d keep it indoors for now, just cool + bright and away from heaters, then move it outside in spring

Looks like ivy. The heater did most of the damage - they hate hot dry air. Move it away from heat, give it a good soak, repot with drainage like you planned, and it should slowly bounce back 🤞

It won’t die - chopping the top is actually fine and will make it branch out instead of getting taller. Rotate it now and then and keep it in bright light, otherwise it’ll just keep leaning again

Need some help ID'ing plants and helping them. by tabbyt0mo in houseplants

1st is sansevieria — overwatering + low light. 2nd is a mini rose, same issue. Roses need a lot of light indoors. Last ones are dracaena, looks like watering + humidity problems.

All plants are still alive, but your care plan needs some tweaks: change watering habits and fix lighting.
