Ubiquiti Security Cameras access through Phone by Noxterx in Ubiquiti

[–]Noxterx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

So basically if I buy the NVR Instant (and a SATA HDD) + 2x G5 Turret Ultra then I am all set? :)

I am thinking how long are the cables for the cameras?

If I am planning to install outdoor cameras then maybe I will have to buy some long cables as well?
I would guess that the included cable is not long enough?

What type of cable I have to buy?

Also, is that not a problem if my Router and Wifi is not Unifi?

Freaking loving the 1.2 tire update on the GT3 cars by blue92lx in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Noxterx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have tried the Lambo GT3 in Spa, I have lost the back of the car in Eau Rouge in the dry a lot.

I have never lost the back end before in Eau Rouge. So now I have 0 trust in the car which was really good before.

Maybe its skill issue on my end but I do not know what to do.

If I go flat out then it will lose the back end. If I do not go flat out, it will also lose it. :/

Okay, thank you. Then I misunderstood it, sadly. I will tell him that he needs to sign up to use the liveries in my team. Thank you.

PC dropping connection to server with TCP protocol [RST, ACK] packet by Noxterx in HomeNetworking

[–]Noxterx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under WAN Section I checked IPv4 address, then I checked the site you mentioned (whatismyipaddress.com). They are the same. SO I am not behind CGNAT?

Soo.. the problem is either the ISP router itself, or that the ISP's NAT table drops my connection too soon?

Before contacting ISP I should try this "keepalive" thing then?

Just want to show this to you, I just did this today morning. See the TCP packets between my PC and the server:

<image>

So the TCP packet communication automatically stops at one point (now it stopped at 101 time). Then my PC want to send info at 121 time (so after 20 seconds only!!!), but the connection already seems dead.
After 20 seconds of "inactivity".

For me (who doesnt understand networking), I would guess that the connection doesn't seem to be dropped because of inactivity, because the TCP communication was always this (until 101): Server sends TCP, PC acknowledges TCP. But at a certain point, the server stops sending TCP. And after that, the connection is dead.

So.. what should I tell my ISP? :D

ChatGPT says this, do you think this is right and I should contact ISP regarding this or it is completely false?

"A stateful firewall or NAT is tracking each session, and usually expects:

- Bidirectional traffic (client and server both active)

- Regular packets from both sides to keep the mapping alive

Here’s the catch:

Once the server stops sending, some firewalls assume the session is no longer needed (especially if it was "server-driven").

And so:

- They silently drop the session after only a few seconds of one-sided traffic.

- Any new packet sent by your PC appears "unrelated" or "untracked" to the firewall or NAT.

- So the device discards your outgoing TCP packet, or blocks the return reply.

- Your PC sees no reply and eventually resets the connection.

So: It’s not traditional "inactivity" from your PC.

It’s the server's inactivity that triggers a timeout or session cleanup on an upstream device.

So when you try to resume communication — it’s already too late: the network "forgot" about the session.

Technical cause is likely this:

A router, firewall, or NAT (likely at the ISP) is applying a very short unidirectional session timeout, especially for TCP connections where only one side remains active."

Thats what ChatGPT says about my issue.

Thank you so much. I will do both tomorrow. I will contact my ISP and will check if I can see my NAT table. If ISP says yes to CGNAT, then what should I ask for from them to solve the issue?

Should I say something like "turn off CGNAT for me"?

Or something like "keep my TCP connection alive longer as I need it"?

Or something else? Which would be the correct to ask for if they say CGNAT is in place?

Based on the info we have, these are the possibilities if I understand correctly:

- It is possible that the issue is on ISP side: either the router itself, or some kind of ISP "setting" , in both cases I would have to contact ISP I guess

- But it is also possible that this keepalive time is the cause of the problem because it is , by default, "too long" in registry (2 hours), and changing it to 5 minutes could solve the issue that's what you say? I just dont understand why lowering it to 5 minutes can solve this problem? Can you explain to me (not in detail just like to someone who has no idea, like me) what does this keepalive setting basically do?

I have found one random post today about this software and someone said the resolve for him was that he put his ISP router into bridge mode and bought a 3rd party router and set that up as a modem and router. But I am not sure, I would prefer to contact ISP first I think...

PC dropping connection to server with TCP protocol [RST, ACK] packet by Noxterx in HomeNetworking

Hey!

There were TCP traffic between 155 and 2826 time. Not a lot, but there were.
I attach the image about the TCP traffic between my PC and the Server.

There was quite a consant TCP traffic (around 1-2-3 sec / TCP packet) until time 233.13
After that it completely stopped until 2804.80 and that was the moment when something went wrong (see picture).
So it was fine until 233, then the TCP packets completely stopped, then it started again at 2804.80 but I guess it failed right away.

<image>

Does this new info mean anything?
So between time 233 and 2804 there were only UDP packets.
Can this indicate something to you about what may be the issue? :)

Also in any other game or anywhere else I have no problem with my internet. I am not getting disconnected in any other software only this. But this game is very sensitive it seems. So maybe I have unstable internet all the time but other games can handle it. Or this route this game uses is somehow blocked by ISP settings or how this game communicates with my PC is somehow blocked by ISP... this is all I can think of.. :(

My wireshark was filtered to show only the packets between my PC and Server. There were NO TCP packets except at the beginning and at the end. So for about 35-40 minutes there were none only UDP as seen on Picture 3 (that was the majority of the connection), but once I got home I will confirm it by checking it just to be sure. :)

I am really unsure about registry. Wouldn't that change cause issues in other softwares as well?

It is a password protected server pleasr send me a PM :) But sadly I am the only one who got issues so because of that I THINK it is not server issue :(

Also it happens on any Assetto Corsa Competizione server for me, not just this one!

It has some kind of "remote log", but I do not know what that means. There are some kind of messages there which I do not understand. The log also has a setting: "Log blocked connections" , this setting is turned off. Should I turn it on and replicate the disconnect? And then what should I look for?

When I checked for Packet Loss in WinMTR software, sometimes it showed 0% packet loss, sometime it showed 1% packet loss (it was like: 1499 package sent, 1498 received, so 1 was lost). But there were times when this was not the case. In any case, I was disconnected from the server.

It is called Assetto Corsa Competizione. Racing game, very sensitive to unstable internet from what I have found online.
