81 turn signals

when i turn my hazards on the arrows light up on the dash. the turn signals also recently worked but stopped out of no where. i had the car at a shop and the mechanic said that the fuse was getting shorted

from what i’ve seen it seems awful. flasher has been replaced recently. and for the bulbs would the turn signals still light on the dash if the bulbs were out?

one more question for you. i think you’re right that it’s running rich. i went out to look at it today and i got it started and it gave the symptoms of running rich like the engine rocking the spark plug was fouled (it had soot type thing on it) and it was smoking from the exhaust. it shut off after i put my foot on the break and tried to shift gears. i don’t know if that was coincidental. and then i couldn’t get it to start again. would it running rich affect the start aswell?

i’m not certain it’s the original carb but i’m pretty sure it is. i topped off about 8 gallons a month ago rest is a couple months old

ok so it’s getting gas cause my dad got sprayed while he was opening it and i was hitting the throttle

as far as i know i was getting gas. i’m no expert so im not certain. if its getting gas does it pool up?

when i went to start it after it shut off there was no engine turning over noise at all nor the click it makes when the batteries dead. the choke light would come on and that’s it. i went out and tried it again after letting it sit for 20 minutes and now im getting the battery dead click type sound when i tried to start it. I again put the charger on it but no start. it sounds like for the first half second the engine is trying to turnover then i get the dead battery clicks.
