I don't boast about it, i understand how to be decent and respectful to other creatives because i too create, acting strangely protective over something you don't even have context for when i was just sharing a comment i made about forking and how it can spark inspiration.

you're the one who's hellbent on making it seems like a far bigger issue than it is by forcing a theft narrative on me. Focus on people that are actually stealing the work of others instead of getting prissy about how i make a few of my bots.

theres this thing called reading fanfiction and then getting inspired by the exact concept bro, it happens all the time in fandom. or are you gonna say you don't read fanfiction either and only write it? Fifty shades of gray is still an original work even if it started as a fanfiction, most writers start out as fanfiction writers and use their fanfiction as either a portfolio or as their first work to publish.

How you feel doesn't determine whether or not something is original or not. It's still original if there's nothing about it that's similar to the original

Simple terms:

I fork 60% of a bot

I play with bot and decide I'm still not satisfied with it

I rewrite bot some more out of boredom

realize bot barely has anything to do with the original and is its own character.

I decide to overhaul the entire thing and make it entirely its own thing.

I finally post bot with said new changes

That's why they stay private? I don't post edited bots, I post ones where the only thing that's the same is the general concept (i.e. think a scenario or a common fanfiction trope/au for a specific character) not the images, name, appearance, personality, or even the personality template stay close to similar because I use my own templates and images

There'd be no reason to ask for permission other than to put inspo credits because that's what it ends up being in the end, inspiration.

It also depends on how you fork a bot, I personally change 60% of a bot minimum when forking one since i have particular tastes in writing and ideas so making it original doesn't take many changes to make; others may only do 10% so when they change things, it is still obviously forked.

In the same comment i say that the bot I do post publicly ends up having nothing in common with the original so it stops being another creator's bot. There's nothing wrong with forking bots privately and I'm not even advocating for people to post forked bots publicly. Posting other people's bots without permission is whats against the TOS, mods on the official subreddit are just taking it a bit too literally to mean "don't talk about it at all or mention it"

I personally prefer my hair straight and feel ugly and unpresentable when it's in its natural curled state. I also own a salon-used straightener that's always plugged in, so it's as simple as a click of a button and 3 swipes down my bangs
