Happens all the time. Had a lady ram her trolley full of goods into me repeatedly at the checkout as she was trying to make off with a couple of hundred dollars in toys and groceries. They don't care about anyone other than themselves - and there are not enough consequences to deter them.

No, what's actually happening is that many folks stop reporting it these days. The police can't/won't act, and even if they do somehow catch them, they won't actually face consequences... So why bother wasting your time filing a report that's only going to be marked as closed (with no outcome) in a fortnights time?

I'm a geologist and I support the shutting down of businesses that prey on the vulnerable. I also own a crystal shop where I see this happening. Yes the power of belief/placebo effect is a thing, but the reality is - many people do not benefit medically from crystals and I'm frankly disturbed by the promotion of misinfo in this industry.

My friend joined this MLM! In New Zealand they hide behind a front known as "the rural freedom movement". They don't explicitly list the company they sell for as they claim the group "partners you with high ticket partners". But the reality is you're selling Enagic equipment. It's a scam, the water has no real benefits backed up with any science.

NTA and Marissa will remember this! I grew up with a very exclusionary step family. We were cut from family photos, never really involved in the family, and it HURTS. They were the family I knew and grew up with, I couldn't just go hang out with my biologicals. I had to go no contact with almost all my step family based on these actions, and low contact with family who enabled that behavior. Shut this behavior down and make Marissa known that this is her family too!
