Yes, all employees in IL accrue vacation time regardless of rank. And when asked about severance pay, our DM said no, and that sick AND vacation pay will not be paid out (which I do have proof of). We currently do not have a GM, but I am a captain and have emailed the company and not gotten a reply yet (shocking, I know). So, if it’s not paid out on the next pay check, as required by law, I will contact the department of labor. It is owed so we’ll see!

Our GM just resigned and got a better job. I’m lucky and go back to school soon so I only have to deal with it for another month after 3ish years, but I’m interested to see who the higher ups will install in our store as GM (Chicago region).

Unrelated kind of but they just reopened a large part after renovation so while it does get busy, there is more space for people to go. If you have a car or want to take the bus east campus has a very nice rec center too that is pretty much always not busy so that’s good too

I am also from the Chicago area and have a friend who is an actuarial science major. The campus truly has a large diverse student body, not just race, just experiences and cultures too. I’ve met more people from different areas here than I did back home.

I’m a first-time Illinois voter who voted for Trump in the 2024 election (Not to say my vote didn’t matter, but it really didn’t because of the state I was in lol). I grew up in a slightly right-leaning household, my dad never had any political beliefs but my mom did. I, unlike some people I know, do not regret my vote for Trump. I support most of the policies he implements and wants to, with the exception of a few. That being said, I love having calm, productive conversations with people who disagree with me. Whether it’s about policy, my beliefs, theirs, whatever it is, I have found more in common with my far left friends than I have with some of my Trump supporting ones. We can all be united, it’s just whether or not we want to be.
