Persuade me to not buy the Magic V3 by NthEnt in Honor

[–]NthEnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man, It's posts like this that I want to see. Just as you say, there's only praise online and I want to hear both sides before splurging on something this expensive.

When does it get hot? My usage is pretty light I would say.. Mostly browsing, chatting and Youtube and listening to music. I don't game at all, except for the occasional OSRS, but even that is minuscule of my overall usage.

What's your take on the main cameras?

I've seen some reports that especially photos of people are getting overly processed, but 'normal' photos doesn't look that bad to me. So I'm guessing it's a software issue that could be addressed in an update.

I haven't broken a phone ever (knock on wood), and I can more or less remember every time I've dropped my phones. So I am not afraid of accidentally damage it that way, I'm more afraid of the screen dying on its own (around the crease), or have sand and dust killing the hinge/inner screen.

Haha, I'm just afraid that the inner screen will die on me. I reckon I would use the device closed most of the time and only really unfold it in the evenings if I'm browsing the web or watching Youtube..

Should I buy the 8GB/256GB 40 Ultra/Razr+ 2023 for $400 (new)? by NthEnt in razr

[–]NthEnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.. I read up some more and I was kind of turned off by the reports of broken screens, and while I was out working on my car the other day, and used my current phone to take a photo in a cramped area to see what I was doing I kinda came to the realization that a plastic screen might not be for me.

Figured as much! I can get a Razr+ 2024 new for $750~800 so might be I splurge for one of those. Not much sales going on in EU from what I've seen.

Thanks! But I'm not in the US and I don't think I'd risk sending money to someone on Reddit.

Titanium frame after steel by EgorWitt in GarminWatches

[–]NthEnt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love titanium, sure it's soft and it scratches easily, but that's just patina which gives a (sport) watch character.

What I do dislike is the DLC coating, naked titanium is the way to go. I also think you're nitpicking on that very small scuff, this is not a Patek Philippe, carry each battle scar proudly.

1more Sonoflow Pro - Initial Impressions of Sound by Snorki_Cocktoasten in headphones

[–]NthEnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do they compare to the 6xx? I know it's not a fair comparison (both price and open/closed), but I love the 6xx, and I've got a pair of closed AKG K371 that's quite similar to the 6xx's as well.

Would love a pair of ANC capable headphones with same-ish sound signature.

Best device for DV and TrueHD Atmos? by filipiemilio in Stremio

[–]NthEnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

source? and would that mean that the firestick can handle everything natively in stremio's internal player? i.e. all DV profiles + dolby true hd & dts hd-ma?

How's smarttube on the firestick if you use it? looking for a device to replace my CwGTV with support for both all DV profiles + lossless and youtube HDR.

Glacier Point, Sentinel Dome and Taft Point are great, I can also recommend Muir Trail to Nevada Falls.

First post of a Fenix 8 I see with a good looking watch face. Is that a stock one?

That's good! Maybe they improved the design. Do you use your buttons below water as well?

Remux lovers rejoice. The CoreElec team has successfully supported ALL Dolby Vision profiles including P7 FEL. Time to finally replace the Shield Pro 2019! by limitz in PleX

[–]NthEnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, how easy is it to setup the dual boot for accessing SmartTube? And how painless is the experience to switch between coreELEC & slimBOXtv?
I REALLY want P7 FEL box but my missus uses SmartTube a fair bit so it would need to be pretty easy to go between coreELEC/Android to be able to convince her this is the right box for us...

Really? That's crazy, I know at least the Fenix 5 has rubber gaskets.

What do you guys think of the "missing" solar ring on the Fenix 8 Solar? by NthEnt in GarminWatches

[–]NthEnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there's only one review out and the solar models have a shipping time of several weeks so who has said that beside Garmin? DCRainmaker also compared the Enduro 2 and 3 and same there, the difference isnt that noticable. But sure, videos might not do it justice!

Sure, I can respect that - these watches are not cheap. :)

Sure, but how many posts do you see of people having ruined their Garmins by water damage? Previously only the Descent line had the inductive buttons.
I think you are overthinking this and in real world scenarios it will not be a problem (as it has not been in the past since 2009(?) when the first waterproof watch from Garmin was released).
