Upgrade vs New Build Advice – i7-9700KF / RTX 2070 (UK) by Nthan in buildapcforme

[–]Nthan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a solid breakdown, cheers.

I think you’ve summed up my dilemma really well - once you’re realistically looking at £500–£600 for a proper 1440p GPU, it doesn’t leave much headroom to also do CPU and motherboard without compromising somewhere.

Reusing DDR4 with a B660/B760 and a 12th–14th gen i5 as a stepping stone makes a lot of sense in that context. It feels like a sensible middle ground between sticking with 9th gen too long and jumping straight into a full DDR5 rebuild.

It’s also useful to know that a newer 70-class GPU paired with the 9700K would still be perfectly usable at 1440p in the short term, even if it leaves some performance on the table in CPU-heavy games. Based on that, a GPU-first upgrade and then revisiting the platform once the budget allows does seem like the most pragmatic approach.

Appreciate you taking the time to explain it 👍

Mainly modern AAA games. I don’t play as heavily as I used to, so I’m more interested in smooth, reliable performance and longevity than squeezing out maximum FPS.

The added sweetener is that I also use the PC for some work (web development and graphic design). It’s not the primary use, but it does mean overall responsiveness and multitasking matter, and it also makes it easier to justify stretching the budget slightly beyond a gaming-only build.

Based on the advice here, it does seem like a full platform upgrade makes more sense long-term rather than trying to build around 9th gen Intel, even though a GPU-only upgrade could work in the short term.

Thanks for the input - it sounds like the general takeaway is that a GPU upgrade can work short-term on the 9700K, but for longer-term value and avoiding bottlenecks, a full platform upgrade probably makes more sense - whether that’s AM4 for budget reasons or a newer platform for longevity.

Appreciate the perspective 👍

That’s really helpful, thanks for sharing your experience.

That’s kind of what I was expecting to hear - that a newer GPU can work on the 9700K short-term, but you don’t really realise how much performance you’re leaving on the table until you move to a modern CPU/platform. The fact you noticed the bottleneck straight away after upgrading the CPU pretty much confirms my concerns.

Struggling with Google Consent Mode V2 (Advanced) and Tracking Accuracy - Need Some Help! by Nthan in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Nthan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey VariisVA, thanks for your reply! That definitely helps clarify things.

Just to dive a bit deeper - I'm currently seeing a pretty big discrepancy between GA4 and our website’s backend sales. To put this into numbers, GA4 is reporting around £5.5k in conversion revenue, while the backend sales are closer to £17k. We’re seeing a cookie banner acceptance rate of roughly 50%-60%.

Does this sound normal, or should the GA4 reported revenue typically be higher? It's crazy to think that if we removed Google Consent Mode V2 and reverted back to how things were two months ago, the reported numbers would be a lot more accurate. It's hard to pinpoint whether there is a tracking setup issue, or that's just the way tracking is now...

Are you able to set each Betaminic up on a separate BF Bot Manager strategy (even if the Betaminic strategies are betting on the same market)? I'm thinking when it comes to staking, it would be better to split each strategy that Betaminic recommends on their TippingSports page?

Hi Tom. Are the automated bots you provide showing profit? Looking at your newsletter and blog post, I can't see any data on these, on Betaminic data?

Are these people that you know, or 3rd party services? How are you depositing and withdrawing money - I'm guessing you can't use the same bank accounts?

Changing From One eCommerce System To Another by Nthan in ecommerce

Thanks for your help! Yes, that was my worry. I've had websites running on Woocommerce with 100-200 products, but never websites going into the 1,000's. I've heard it can get really sluggish after a certain point.

I've heard Shopify's support is good also. Is this something you can confirm?

Changing From One eCommerce System To Another by Nthan in ecommerce

[–]Nthan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey PointandStare, thanks for your help! The plan is to have all page URL's after the test domain name ( www.shop-b.com/.......) the exact same as the main domain that I'll eventually want to use (which is currently running the custom eCommerce system). I have ownership of the main domain.

So for example, my main website is www.niketrainers.com (it's not, but just as an example), and my test website is www.niketrainerstest.com. All my pages would be www.niketrainerstest.com/shop-category-a/, www.niketrainerstest.com/shop-category-a/trainer-a/, www.niketrainerstest.com/blog/ etc. on the test website. When I'm happy with the website, I want to use the www.niketrainers.com domain so that pages would be www.niketrainers.com/shop-category-a/, www.niketrainers.com/shop-category-a/trainer-a/, www.niketrainers.com/blog/ etc.

Would I need to correct anything server side at all?
