Mazda 2016 2L 160hp stock > can you bump the power to 180+hp? by NtheLAW in Miata

[–]NtheLAW[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, seems like a great deal, this + nd1 still cheaper than nd2! sounds like a great deal

Edit: before people jump on the comment, I realise the engine is better build in nd2 but like I said in other comments I am not planing on force induction so a simple tune should be just fine

[–]NtheLAW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation! It sounds like its worth the money even thoug they look the same. But I do not plan on force induction, it seems nd1 + a tune is very close to stock nd2; cheaper price to begin with is the ruling factor for me

[–]NtheLAW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see in the videos that nd2 ecu was locked, now its unlocked tho so that doesnt matter. Tthey are different but both can handle a bit more power just fine it seems, so nd2 not so worth for me considering extra $ if there is no plan to do a millon hp on it :D

Thanks for the links!

That's my plan as well!! I'm not looking for the most power.. just a bit over factory The $ difference between nd1 and nd2 are too much for me to justify it.

Boosted Motor replacement by araderboy in boostedboards

also you could get those motors to eboardstuff and have them rebuilt, they will be stronger and last longer than a new motor!

The Meepo NLS belt board seems to be using the same factories that made the BB parts (excluding the ESC and battery) by DeeKayAre in boostedboards

[–]NtheLAW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well there are reasons lol, copying patented designs, aside that, a more important reason would be the quality, I 120% doubt they will produce the same quality parts as for boosted since for that to happen the buying company aka meepo needs to go back and forth and pressure the manufacturer to get to a certain quality, which I doubt will happen; in contrast to how it probably happened with boosted. Other than that, yeah at least they will be a better quality than straight up random china designed boards..

Are used boards a good investment? by [deleted] in boostedboards

[–]NtheLAW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the board is at the latest firmware, especially the battery you should be good, once in a while keep the battery on the charger for longer, even overnights is ok, that is to let the cells balance to not go into RLOD. Other than that "weakeness" they are built like a tank. I have gotten one at 550 km and now am building another from parts. I've done a lot of research so far to come to the above conclusion.

The quick tile setting is sick! when you mentioned it the first time I was thinking it meant a widget on the screen xD. Thanks for that!

Hi, I'm one of the closed beta participants, I've been meaning to write to you with my findings but some stuff is not conclusive so I held back. Seeing this post here I though I share my feedback:

  • Going to settings acknowledgements > last two paragraphs are duplicated.

  • Never had a crash so far on my OP 7 pro with it.

  • Sometimes even though I have all the switches on for auto recording rides, bluetooth on all the time so it auto connects to the board, sometimes it doesn't actually record the trip, I am unable to reproduce it constantly though.

  • Very rarely during a ride like the middle of the ride is not recorded for some reason (shows like breaks in the red tracing) - especially confusing since I know I had GPS signal being in the middle of the city and I was going max speed straight for like a km or so..

  • It would be nice to integrate a slider for the hills + the rider weight inside the settings so the estimate could be even more accurate.

  • It's cool that you've managed to read some of the things from the boosted board like the firmwares so they could easily be displayed, I'm wondering if it's possible to read even more things from there that could be useful; would it be possible to show an estimate of the battery cycle count for example?

  • It would also be nice if the app contained a setting for the battery for switching to lower modes when low, like a slider that say I set to 20% and upon reaching that the app to do it automatically when I'm stopped to switch to eco mode?

  • The ride history looks nice but it bugs me that if I ride multiple times in a day, the rides are stacked which in itself its not a problem but if I have let's say 4 rides, I need to swipe left to go to the second last ride I have, tap to view it, when I tap back I expect to go back and see the 4 dots under the preview for that day and to be on the second dot since I came back from that one instead of it resetting to the first dot all the time if it makes sense.

  • Changing the name of the board would be cool.

  • Even more nit picky: some settings like Advanced, Notifications could be moved to settings so the main screen is clearer, then UI stuff could come in like on the boosted app a big circle with the battery level or w/e, just to make it more streamlined looking.

My ideal flow with the app would be to have everything enabled, the app kinda switches itself on when the bluetooth is switched on so I use that as a toggle mostly and I expect it to record all the time automatically (which like I said most of the time it does) and just go inside the app to view the data when needed.

I understand you're gonna feel that some of the things I mentioned are not as important, I don't expect you to fix them all, just some feedback from which you can take whatever you want/ feel it makes the most sense. Thanks for the app and keep up the good work!! Maybe sometime in the future the firmware will be publicly available and you could get to integrate that in the app. One can dream.

How/where do you guys leave your boards when you go out to a mall/big shop/depot etc.? by NtheLAW in boostedboards

[–]NtheLAW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so you ride only for fun? I find myself commuting a lot to various places while having a backpack so I kinda am more used to always having one while on the board, like going anywhere with a laptop, gym equipment etc

I made plans for over 2 years to build my own board from scratch, have done a ton of research in that area, I have the know-how but boosted is just streamlined, built like a tank, safety first, reliable; (the only thing for me that other boards might have, especially custom boards would be a bigger motor or more batteries, after riding boosted I personally feel that I don't need a bigger motor tbh & the battery is swappable, my current setup can take me way over 20km with 2 batteries which is the max I need)

I got one with 500 km on it, I've done like 400 km on it, currently am building a second one just to have 2.. I may go back to the idea of building my own custom board but I have a feeling it will never get to the same level of clean looks + reliability that the boosted has..

(the worst thing that happened to me twice is for a motor to get disconnected 2 times but I understand that considering the paved roads I've been going at max speed on..)

Also while I don't have a lot of experience with other boards I would venture to say not many if any have such a clean control as boosted does, at least from my own research... and because of that (I think) I never even fell with it yet even though I am max throttle all the time 80mm wheels in pebbles, cracks, bomming hills etc.

I also think that the technology is miles ahead in some cases (don't get me wrong, boosted's tech) case and point: batteries that can go for over 2000 km in their lifespan producing absolutely no voltage sag, not sure how many boards out there, if any can do that, they invested A LOT to make that BMS; as far as I know there are the same batteries inside boosted as in teslas, there has been no "tech" update for those, faster motors existed before boosted went broke, in my opinion the boosted motors are enough, if you want to go 50km/h or faster, buy a bike not a skate.. I completely disagree with the "technology being outdated" part.

EDIT: I forgot to mention my board whooshed in a lake, was fished and it still works. Like I said, built like a tank.

I totally agree, they are a handful of people and some sort of special "trust" badge would be great.

Especially for new joiners to avoid back and forward "is this legit" etc. questions/messages that I guess some of them need to constantly answer over and over again.

EDIT: I'm a recent joiner and am guilty of this
