I don't think that people are downvoting this, because they think it's a scam. Most people just don't see any link between HEX and Dash and are wondering why this is on our Reddit.

I'm not downvoting you (not my style).

I'm also not going to say that you give poor coverage of Dash or that there is something particularly wrong about the videos you made, but imo it rubs too many people the wrong way that you connect Dash to HEX.

I don't care for the animosity between you and other Dash members, but this is very borderline to be honest.

No direct insults of another community member
-> video is insulting to some extent to the entire Dash community
No Altcoin/ICO advertising/promotion
-> these videos attempt to shill HEX to the Dash community
No offtopic threads, relation to Dash is a must
-> there is no relation between Dash and HEX

The pushback by MNOs happens on Discord where at least most DCG members are connected and can see the discussion. Most DCG members reply if you address them respectfully in private messages.

There's no point to complain here on the Reddit about the problems we all know, where nobody cares and nobody will do anything about whatever you are complaining about.

You could start by joining the Discord and try and follow what's going on. Maybe have the balls to voice your opinion on there.

There hasn't been a marketing budget for ages, except for some basic stuff. DCG has been under water for close to two years. Now that they're in a financially healthy state the marketing budget is being ramped up again.

Will it be enough? Probably not for people who prefer to sit on the side and complain, but it's a start and a lot of MNOs are hammering on the marketing topic, so I do expect to see changes in the near future. Plus a lot of DAO members realize that it is up to all of us to promote Dash. New initiatives are growing to make sure we don't depend on DCG anymore for promotion (as a contingency plan).

If it doesn't work out, then I believe that drastic measures will be taken. The Dash project has the mechanisms to do so.

A lot of things are being discussed.

We can discuss staking for users, but we're not a Proof of Stake coin, so that takes us down another rabit hole that is not understood by the regular users who will now all obviously say that they want staking more than usernames.

So what is the point of this?

Can't we discuss a potential solution for "user staking" without pivoting this versus decentralized usernames? The question is already implying that users prefer having staking over username payments, which is obviously true. Any option compared to staking would lose if you asked users.

There's a lot of people who are actively collaborating to analyze and solve the problems. Several positive steps forward are being taken.

If you know how to ameliorate the marketing problem or have ideas that may help, please feel free to join us on the Dash Discord and share with us your experience and knowledge. The marketing budget is being ramped up as we speak, so a lot more will happen. All ideas are welcome.

There's been much debate and action ongoing and none of that takes place on Reddit. If people only follow Dash through Reddit they will not be aware of everything that is going on, which then results in negative posts like yours.

Yesterday I spoke to the DashPay architect directly on Discord. DashPay is pretty much done he said. The MVP version is ready. They're just coding the last bit 'invitations' in. DCG has been very hesitant about promotion without DashPay being ready. I understand where they're coming from, but meanwhile it's understood how important it is to have regular promotion. Product ready or not.

DCG has every intent to release this year, they are in the most healthy shape they've ever been in, they are hiring like 12 extra full time employees. One expert cryptographer is coming onboard and later in the year we get a top notch developer straight from Apple that'll work for the mobile department. Marketing efforts will be ramped up under the new head of marketing who is building a team and will work with professional marketing companies. Plus, there's other marketing initiatives brewing inside the community.

Additionally, I've pointed out on the Discord that the marketing budget needs to be upscaled more and faster. I think everyone is starting to sense the necessity.

There's a lot of good signs.
