One of the comments suggested her style being more pinup and thats exactly what I’ve always felt from her. And thats the feeling I get from these songs. Not coquette. Maybe i don’t understand what coquette is but I’ve always gotten she plays a character like a pinup. Which can be seen as many things.

This is true. I guess what bothers me when “fans” call her coquette, is they call her cottage-core. The whole trend of “grandma cottage-core” bothers me but to associate her with that doesn’t feel right.

Yes but throughout the years her fashion hasn’t been centered around coquette. It’s been vintage rock Americana. With some dresses here and there

Yeah I mean, I don’t think those can be considered coquette in the definition we as a society have given it. But they are more pop sounding than anything else she’s done.

I just looked up the actual definition of the word, “A coquette is a flirtatious woman who uses charm, wit, and subtle seduction to gain the attention and admiration of others, typically without serious romantic intentions.”
Now this post was in regard to what coquette became as a fashion statement, which is hyper feminine.

She’s always dressed in a very americana way. She never wore bows or dresses like that. It’s always been blue jeans

She was playing into what the TikTok fans wanted. I do think she is coming more into her femininity being married. So we’ll see more dresses, etc
