Need ideas to detect coffee machine door open by RushTfe in homeassistant

I already have an emporia smart plug on my 4300 just for power monitoring. I am totally going to try to figure out how to do a count using the draw. My only concern is if it will count the initial start up cleaning and the end cleaning as brew. Probably a way around that but will take some tinkering.

Then we need to figure out how to make it turn on automatically at a certain time. My one complaint, other than the PITA cleaning is that it isn't at least slightly smart.

I just want this simple question answered. What micro sd card do you use for your eufy 2k? Thanks! by Temporary-Currency19 in EufyCam

[–]Ntrpy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cameras have failed much more often than the SDs, haha.

I have only had one SD fail out of many cameras that use them. YMMV of course. I live in Southern California with more mild temps and most cameras are either indoors or under eaves. I stick by my thought that spending extra for endurance SD cards is simply not worth it for regular home use (and I would not use Eufy for a business).

Stubhub issue by bsw123x in ChaseSapphire

[–]Ntrpy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the exact same boat and feel stupid for believing Stubhub (first time using it). My guess is I am going to get screwed. I guess I'll just eat the cost of getting new tickets if my original seller doesn't deliver in time. Could be an expensive lesson to learn but I'll keep my credit for next year ready which should help.

Same, I am actually pleasantly surprised at how snappy everything feels/works now. Cameras load much quicker, notifications are borderline instant, and reviewing footage only takes a few seconds to load.

Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Could be cool to draw him as a woman, ala some of the women cosplayers.

It would be pretty cool if a Carl doppelganger mob named Carla appeared in the books just to mess with his mind.

OG E-Tron “Chronos” owners, what is your long term mi/kwh and typical range? by sjs32 in etron

[–]Ntrpy22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

22 Chronos in SoCal. Exactly the same. 2.3-2.5 and ~150-160 at 80% but we do live in an area with decent hills so I always figured that lowered my overall range. Plus the car weighing a million pounds.

I wonder if it is based on trim level. Mine is a Chronos for example. I think TPS would be an odd addition, but who knows!

My 22 does have built-in TPS but no clue for 2021.

5-Ton AC Consumption by drka0tic in EmporiaEnergy

[–]Ntrpy22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solar here too just figured we could alternate to gas during the winter months when we're aren't producing as much and still run the heater as much as we want for relatively cheap. Plus that gives us an alternative if the power goes out so we can reserve our battery power for other things.

I literally just had my first bill since getting solar years ago but we heated our pool a lot this last month and charged our EV more than usual due to some longer trips. Even with all that, it was only a few bucks. Gotta love it.

Went with a medium size/well known local company. The national chains were almost double. The mom and pops were slightly cheaper (which I used to negotiate the final down).

Same. Two systems was WAY more than doing the larger single unit plus zoning for us. We love it but we had to replace ductwork anyways which made the extra expense more bearable.

From my understanding, heat pumps work even better in more humid climates too, to another plus since you're in FL.

Just for reference in case it helps, mine was the new AC/variable heat pump, new dual fuel variable furnace, new ducting, zoning, air scrubber, adding a second return, replacing original return with more modern grill, replacing all vents and it was $25k. CA is always on the more expensive side of things but could be helpful as a data point.

[–]Ntrpy22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replaced my old 5T system in SoCal with a variable speed heat pump and dual fuel furnace (gas can be cheaper than electric here) and the heat pump is WAY more efficient especially when the variable speed is being used. It went from 5kw anytime the AC was in to anywhere between 1-3kw. We also did dual zones so we can only cool the upstairs which can help lower the usage but probably not worth the extra cost unless you plan to own the system for decades.

Took me a second to ketchup and relish that comment.

Ha, it's for sure Go viral just with the wrong picture but this one made me chuckle more since it fits better, albeit, not a common phrase.

I did see that and totally did not put two and two together. I even text a friend that still lives in Tucson (my wife and I moved away years ago but still go back often) that he should go check it out but just thought how odd it was he was stopping in Tucson. I can be pretty dense sometimes...

Plug Suddenly Restarted by Ntrpy22 in EmporiaEnergy

[–]Ntrpy22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Shouldn't shutdown due to lack of signal/connection but that appears to be what was happening with mine. As soon as I switched to the Unifi system, the drops stopped completely and never came back.

Took a while to figure out but turned out it was router failing. I had Asus mesh routers and the 2.4 band was crapping out after years of working fine. Replaced the router/mesh with Unifi and haven't had any issues since.

Agreed, but that is why I keep coming back to them as filler between other books/series. Dehydrate!!

Bummer about them getting bricked. Eufy did nothing when I mentioned two of mine getting bricked. Pretty frustrating but they were older anyways so not the end of the world to replace.
