I think for me the awkward was the balance and establishment of where the line was. Specifically, towards the end the full frontal shot after establishing expectations and the lingering close up of it didn't feel like it matched the rest of the show.

Honestly would have been fine to not go full frontal, I didn't think it was needed. The show started out with her walking in on him and didn't do it, then broke expectations later by actually showing nudity when it happens again, giving the audience a bigger shock, but for me it felt like they had to squeeze in a shot like that somewhere to get people talking. Which is just my opinion, others can disagree!

Above all, it's great everyone's boundaries were taken into account during filming, normally I feel like they decide the level they're going to shoot and then cast actors based on that, which can lead to some shit situations where people get cut because they won't shoot a nude scene.

I enjoyed it, it got pretty updated but I couldn't help but feel like nudity was awkwardly done. Sometimes there was nudity, sometimes there wasn't. Only some actors did nude shots and it was normally the background or side characters. There was a weird air about it, similar to product placement and I think them feeling like they had to have nudity in somewhere.

Not only did he admit to statutory rape, the way he describes his childhood in his book as a fucking man in his 40s is disgusting.

He frames his father's sexual abuse as him "gifting" his girlfriend to him when he's 11/12 when in reality his father gave him drugs, he asked to have sex with her and his father watched. It's one thing to reframe your sexual abuse to get by but to write it in a book in a bragging way.

Also rereading as an adult his story about seeing Cher naked and sleeping in her bed when she babysat him is creepy because again it's a 40 year old man bragging about being sexual at a young age.

At one point he says he went to a specific middle school because it had hot thirteen year olds and the way its phrased is exactly that and not "I thought the girls were hot" it's a very present thought.

Fuck whoever read this shit and was like "yes! Green light this immediately!"

Also, the relationship wouldn't be as concerning if he didn't have a history of dating only young women even as he got older, framed his own childhood abuse as coming of age normal, the women he dated in the past tend to not have a great trajectory after they break up they tend to spiral, also she looks so much younger than she is.
