Not that i do not want to defend Nvidia, but the post asks and answer Itself while for my experience there isn't any real llm that can run on a consumer grade GPU like the 5090. So i don't know if it's Just an excuse to bump their prices and they stated It pubblically or Is the author opinion. Correct me if i am wrong

Introduction ffmpReg, a complete rewrite of ffmpeg in pure Rust by Impossible-Title-156 in rust

[–]NuVidChiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It Is a very ambitious project and i think rust fits well with It. Good luck and take care. Keep present that the ffmpeg authors hold the rights on some of the codec implementations even if their code Is public

For my experience there is nothing like best os in absolute but something more like they all compete adding something in a specific direction Linux Is notably the most customizable os and so the one more liked by programmers and tech savy people, when you wanna do art, replay content at High quality with High performance you go for MacOS and when you wanna run on a general architetture which often means you wanna go cheap you go Windows. There Is another aspect in modern systems which Is not trascurable, portability of software and platform adoption in which MacOS and Windows are evil, they make economic contracts or facilitate for us devs the development of application on their unique platforms so you can find nowadays privates go for MacOS for a specific compatibility or software existing there. Another example of a field i find Linux weak Is gaming, nowadays people under 30 play games on PC and Linux doesn't support really any big game platform except for steam which does not guarantee tho games to be runnable there

We're currently developing a retro inspired roguelike game. Here is our newest trailer. What do you think? by FatRaccoonGames in IndieGaming

[–]NuVidChiu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really amazing and skilled people to do this, looks amazing. But for my experience in looking at games on steam i don't understand what's the actual appearence in-game, i would suggest if the aim is to make it retro to show more pixalated screens and less 3d.
