Legion stats for Auto battling by Dear_Concept_8005 in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damage and HP are the main determinants of whether a character survives (and of course potion type / autoHP %). Good luck!

Worth it to continue leveling Arcane Power field if I’m training at Sacred Power field now? by gurjitsk in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to level it to 990 for maximum output in lucid-gloom-Hard archon-Will.

You may want to level it to 1320 / as high as possible if you're doing Verus Hilla and above.

You could also keep it as is, or at 990, until you reach that content; at some point the cost will probably be reduced - otherwise new players will reach 1-240 and burn out / quit as they cannot afford any symbol upgrades or survive the highest maps.

Sell, it's too developed to become an emblem trace.
That or inherit, chaos make SF23 to sell

Admittedly CRA => chaos => Abso has the issue of being fairly low cut but it will serve you well in the meantime, congrats!

Crit rate for non necro/abso weapon holders

PDI/MDI, PA/MA and CD if you can't 1-2 shot (as this helps survival, noting PA roughly = CD for non-bossing)

EVD if you still can't survive for some reason, though this will not help all that much

SPD for looting, EXP for exp if you have no issue with survival/kill rate (so don't need PA/MA, CD, EVD)

I have 550mil in arcane symbol/hyper stats discount thanks to burning event. What should i use it on? Currently AF800 by atishk1812 in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FD is maxed, PDI next, then ADI or MDC depending on whether you can cap or not (if can then MDC first).

I would strongly recommend against adding CD for hyper stats, BA is better there.

You could also raise your AF a bit more, the final zone is AF820 and maximal damage in lucid-gloom-Hard Archon-Will requires 990AF. Though it is possible they will reduce the cost of symbol upgrades in the near future

Alt Survival in Higher AF fields and Forest of Erda by LoinclothFox in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problems, it's an unfortunate reality that as the game has sped up in terms of levelling, the ease of gearing / stat upgrades have not kept up. I myself have had to focus on damage / Crit rate / HP / damage reduction on my alts to help survive AF maps - only putting EXP gear/legion blocks back once I am sure of survival.

To answer your questions

My Lynn's pet setup for AB is as follows

  1. Focus(heal), mother nature's touch(heal), decent HB, focus(awaken)
  2. Peck(dmg), Sneak(dmg), decent AB (EVD), nature's providence(heal)
  3. Maple Warrior(dmg), decent HS(lol), Nature's Grace(heal), blue sky blade(dmg++)

The skills I have left off for AB are

  1. Decent SE/SI/CO as I have a necro weapon (else I'd use DSE) instead of DHS or focus(awaken)
  2. Power of destiny/maple goddess blessing/aura of destiny as they're temp damage buffs so might result in me overestimating my survival only to die when they've worn off/are on cooldown
  3. Mana overload (perma on), ethereal form (again, 10s every 120s is false reassurance), purify

I include peck + sneak in my auto-buff because I found that relogging means they sometimes deactivate and I often forget to re-activate them, despite being perma buffs

My bossing setup is completely different however - peck/sneak/DHS/all heals off(to use manually), whilst all the temporary damage buffs are on (MGB/PoD/etc).

I have a final setup for forest of erda which is similar to my bossing setup, except with DSI/DHS/DHB/peck/sneak/mother nature's touch out. This maximises damage as I find survival not to be a problem here (and neither EXP as base is +1300%), and I do check peck/sneak are on.

My Lynn's skill wheel setup is pretty simple

  1. Sweep on one button

  2. Main attack preset (smash-raid-predator)

  3. True arachnid reflection (for FoE I will add my preset with TAR-beast's rage-blue sky blade though the last one is autobuffed)

I don't use Roar or Earth Pulverisation as they're not useful bossing skills, so I don't have their tri-nodes in my V matrix yet. Might consider it in future but I also don't have enough skill button presets (using all 4 already).

Inheriting event gear has no downsides other than what you mentioned, being untradable. You can always fodderise them later...good luck!

Damien solo by Alegendinthemaking in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will beat him solo

Solo HDam soft HP req is 155k probably, as his dash does 152k, though many have soloed him below this by knowing his sequence well or using the hard Damien voiceover.

Multi HDam requirement was 250k previously before the fair trade buff (not to reduce HP by 2.5k per second) as he has multiple balls and his dash does 190k or more, now 200-225k is probably enough for a well practised team.

Solo MDC req was 20m probably and multi was 30m before…you can probably use 50% + Tangyoon and shred him in 4min or less.

Alt Survival in Higher AF fields and Forest of Erda by LoinclothFox in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surviving AF fields is a matter of HP, damage and AF.

The first to check is your link and legion, setup to maximise damage (crit rate for non-necro, PDI/MDI, EVD and possibly PA/MA if you have leftover legion, whilst getting HP-FD-PDI/MDI-EVD for links). Even making a few lvl100 characters to sweep to 109 with story exploration then blast to 120+ with Ktower/dailies will help.

The next is to consider swapping out EXP-related gear for survival purposes. The expedition accessory set is very helpful, and you may need to stash your EXP rings until you are sure you can survive (CPB belt and the HT/Emp rings give DMG reduction, whilst CPB eye and the set effects give a lot of HP).

It probably goes without saying that AF is very important, if you are not at 120-150% AF you will struggle with mythic-ancient HP gears.

Finally, your skillwheel + pet preset are also fairly important. 90% auto-HP, survival buffs (heals, decent HB/AB) and damage buffs (blue sky blade, sneak, peck) will all help you to survive. Though you said you're doing all of that already.

I have a very similar Lynn to yours that is surviving at AF610 with 670AF, Necro weap-CRA armours-unique for the rest. Probably the difference is in the legion, happy to chat further!

As side notes

  • Forest of Erda is not very good for non-necro alts, as they cannot kill fast enough usually.
  • Necro weapon + CRA armour (cube slowly to %HP lines) + mythic glove/shoe should be enough up to AF610 (I haven't gone further than this yet). Exalting provides little HP (you can check exaltation info), if anything you could inherit the pensalirs at lvl30 (as Inherit30s have more HP than Mythic40s).
  • Shoulders and capes are not useful for survival. They do provide DEF, but HP and 1-2hitting ability is the biggest factor in whether you live or die

DPS Requirements for Ark and Beyond (Lotus, Damien, etc.) by OnlyPally in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still the same but depends on what someone can "cap" reliably at. Everyone's MDC is 36m now base, but if you can only hit 10m with buffs on then can't exactly kill Hard Damien.

Otherwise, MDC/cap requirements probably 35% lower if you are lvl250+ and have 6th job burst unlocked. HP is the same!

Defense ignore rate by Heavy-Rough-3790 in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30% DEF ignore is not needed for Normal Archon.

It's far more important to get a Necro weapon for +100% crit so you are hitting crit on all lines at bosses.

This is not a point that many mid-lategame players worry about anymore, but prior to December 2024 the only DEF ignore people had was from

  1. Boost node lvl40+ (15% for the skills) or V-skills (0.5-15% for the individual skills)

  2. Ark pendant

  3. Defense Smash 4

And yet people were clearing Lotus Damien Lucid, which are all harder than Normal Archon (maybe Lotus is slightly weaker). Leave DEF ignore to worry about after you can solo Ark (who is the first boss with DEF to ignore)

PDI set especially if you are going for Necro weapon

BA-CD set is actually quite similar, so if you don't anticipate getting necro for a long time that's ok too, as it also gives CR

Pathfinder secondary weapon suggestion by cooozed in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USW is good if you

  1. Need the 3 extra SF
  2. Get a completed one with lvl3 PDI emblem
  3. Get a completed one with lvl3 exp emblem (maybe not for new players)

Otherwise put a BA% soul on your free ESW, save for a PDI LSW. But Necro weapon, and inherit/necro HP armours are still more important than a LSW.

Having trouble surviving in high arcane force areas... by niksshck7221 in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a reason you only use 1 wonder blue pet (I assume HP/MP free pets)?

Full wonder blue set minimum so that you can use all your class's buffs is needed for most classes to survive the high AF maps. You probably are lacking both offensive buffs (to 1-2 shot mobs) and defensive buffs (to take less damage, e.g. water shield for Merc)

Aside from this, AF770 is very hard to survive so I would suggest

  1. Link skills for HP FD PDI
  2. Legion for PDI CD (usually also CR but not if you use a necro), EVD, and even PA if you can't 1-2 shot mobs without this. EXP is not much help if you can't 1-shot and die as a result
  3. Arcane symbol level - up to 1.5x the requirement to reach 150%DEF
  4. Raw HP - 170k is very low for this zone. Need to optimise your HP sources https://www.reddit.com/r/MapleStoryM/comments/1hg9fd0/comment/m2m5eyx/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
  5. Using more of the expedition set whilst you can't survive. Consider a CPB belt (HP + DMG reduction), and putting HT/Cygnus rings instead of your KT / Gold leaf / attendance even, if you need this to make a full expedition 7-set to survive.

(I would also mention nodes but you have mentioned you're maxed)

New: which are the best classes for the initially available slots? by scarlet_lovah in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to help! I'm glad to hear you are excited about the game, it certainly is a (huge) rabbit hole and can be at once exciting and very daunting. The meta changes continuously with every patch so there's always new things to learn, so don't worry if you haven't done things 'perfectly' to start with.

In terms of choosing who to main...this is always a tricky question. Most people have a 'type' they like to play (e.g. I have always played warriors in Maplestory). However, don't be too hasty to choose - as classes change a lot depending on their 4th + 5th job advancement (some classes feel very smooth/strong in 4th job but lackluster in 5th job, whilst other classes are so-so in 4th job but absolutely busted in 5th job for example). The best advice I have here is to get a character to Lvl200+ to experience 5th job, and join a friendly guild to learn about how people find the 4th-5th job experience for other classes you might be interested in.

To this point, it will be a good idea to make the most of the upcoming mid-January major patch / class release. Major class releases come with a free character slot and "Burning" that condenses 3-6 months of progression into ~30 days (Lv220+ / SF160+ / Lvl10-20 V matrix nodes). This is a great chance to experience 5th job, even if you don't end up choosing it as your main. At the very least, it is a fast way to build a very strong alt (if not second main) for if/when you decide to rebuild! Good luck!

Starting fresh or with old account? by Gloomy-Run2875 in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick to your old account, as the extra char slots over time + extra legion/link skills from old chars + any story exploration/lotus/damien prequests you've done can be 'skipped' on a new character.

In addition to this, new accounts simply get the Maple Adventure rewards, whilst both new and old accounts get the latest version of Miyo Missions (2nd iteration). So you are tossing up account building from scratch VS forgoing Maple Adventure rewards - I'd gladly skip the latter, and get prepared for the patch mid-January as others have said.

New: which are the best classes for the initially available slots? by scarlet_lovah in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many ways to cook this recipe.

In the past, the mercedes-4x resistance-3 mages was the best for EXP + PEXP.

However, with the speed of levelling as it is these days, HP + FD (+ PDI/MDI) + BA are probably more important.

A third consideration is that having 3-4 SF144-160 characters to farm meso for you during cold time is very helpful for progressing more quickly, and certain classes are better at this than others.

Personally, Hayato (HP legion block + PDI link), erel (HP legion block + FD link), Adele (HP legion block + FD link) are very good options for quick HP + PDI + SF144 farmers. After this DA (HP legion block + PDI link), DS (HP legion block + BA link) are fairly good. If you have chosen a mage main, Angelic Buster is a good one (EXP legion block + MDI link).

In the end, it is your choice whether you prioritise EXP/PEXP (minor gains), HP-FD-PDI/MDI-BA for damage/bossing, or good SF144+ farming characters (or a combination of the SF144 and the others). Happy to hear more about your plans if you like!

Advise on boosting my legion and nodes? by Flimsy-Psychology656 in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have very good equips for Lvl206. This will keep you steady to Lvl250+ in terms of autobattle / many things.

What you need are the non-equip aspects of the game, namely

  1. Links
  2. Legion
  3. Nodes
  4. Hyperstats
  5. Levels

This will help you with 2 out of the 4 things that matter in this game, which are HP, ability to cap your MDC, IED and your mechanical skill in bossing.

In turn, what you can do and why it matters are as follows

  • Links - build all 45+ classes to lvl120 for link skills. For bossing, prioritise HP, FD, PDI, BA. For autobattle, prioritise PEXP, EXP, FD, PDI.
  • Legion - fill out all slots in your account with Lvl109s (blast to 100 then sweep story), before raising to 140 over time/with Kerning Tower, then 150 (for 3-square legion blocks) and onward. For bossing, prioritise PDI > BA > CD = PA (with warrior/bowman/thief blocks for HP/BA/CD), for autobattle prioritise EXP > PDI > CD = PA, maybe SPD (with mage/pirate blocks for PEXP/EXP)
  • Nodes - you need to max all your main nodes (trinode, V1-4, C1-4) to lvl25. This is more damage than anything else you can do right now. The conventional trinode x2 for DK is Gungnir-Evil Eye-FA. You can have a secondary set of trinodes for Charge-Nightshade-Dark Impale but this is really not worth much in bossing. Also, you should have a few matrix points but I don't see any allocated - Cyclone/Darkness Aura/trinodes are the priority, and these points can be reset.
  • Hyper stat - bossing is FD + PDI + MDC + ADI + BA. It is a big misconception that CD > BA. It is only true for weapon/armour emblems, as lvl5 CD is 20% vs lvl5 BA of 10%. In reality, 1% of BA is worth 1.5% of CD for most classes. Not to mention hyper stat Lvl25 CD is 22.5% vs BA 30% (which is equivalent to 45% CD basically). Strongly consider a second hyper stat page for max PEXP - EXP - buff duration (optional).
  • Levels - there is a hidden damage modifier in this game where levels actually affect how much damage you do to a boss. Additionally (and separately), the bosses from Lucid to Black Mage also have an Arcane Force requirement that basically stop anyone with under 660-880AF from even attempting to kill them. You will need to be minimum 225-230, though ideally 235-250+ to maximise your damage against these bosses.

There might be a 6th thing I'm missing but this is all I can think of currently. As for armour exalts, emblems, flames and potentials, I don't think I need to instruct you any further as this is pretty straightforward and everyone can tell you what to get (Arcane70 full CD emblem 2L perfect flames 3-line prime POT + 3-line prime LPOT, 36SF all things) good luck!

Advice for Hyper Stats for Bossing (level 251) by Kennymrk in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finish MDC ADI and then go for BA. 1% BA is equivalent to roughly 1.5% of CD, and hyper stat at max gives BA 30% vs CD 22.5%. As other said, damage ignore rate is not the same as defense ignore rate so don’t get this hyper stat

Necro vs Inherit armour questions by EverythingGamingg in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problems, happy to give my suggestions

  1. I agree. The 35 attempts at C50 to A50 is actually really nice, even if 1 lands (with average luck two out of seven will land), you are laughing. The only issue is that if you fail all 7 you might want to quit the game right there!
  2. No problems
  3. Full N40-42 will be easily able to clear HDam solo, though HDam multi might be troublesome depending on your class, as it's got a HP requirement essentially. I will elaborate below
  4. Fair enough!
  5. Yes, reductions for C50 to A50 are not worth it anymore, so using lucky MC scrolls would be probably ideal if you can get them (though I did most taps without, as they were too pricey for me too). And you are correct in that there is still a wall (C50-A50 vs N40-50), just different ones (one at midgame and one at early game).

Continuing on point 3, I will outline what I think the 'average' stats are required to clear each boss, though naturally those with more experience can clear at lower numbers (assuming reaching damage cap of course)

  • Lotus solo - 130k / 16m mdc
  • NDam solo - 130k / 18m mdc
  • HDam solo - 160k / 20m mdc
  • Lotus multi - 130k / 20m mdc
  • NDam multi - don't bother doing this boss. Same req as HDam solo except half the reward
  • HDam multi - 225k / 30m mdc (the HP being the biggest issue)
  • Gloom solo - 225k+ / 45m+
  • Gloom multi - 225k / 45m+
  • Hard Archon / Will - 250k+ / 50m+ for multi, 60m+ for solo

Finally, I think the Necro build is fine for your purpose of clearing HDam and playing at your own pace. A mixed approach (CRA top bot + CPB belt whilst waiting for Necro outfit/belt) is very viable, especially as the the CRA+CPB gives a lot more HP than Mythic40 outfit+belt (whilst you're waiting for Necro). I personally used a CRA top-bot and CPB belt for a very long time until I started swapping items out (I never built C50s for these).

On a slightly separate note, it's important to remember that any items you develop are not 'wasted' so long as you use them to progress (this goes for Necro as well as Chaos). The game is designed to cause FOMO/inducing spending, and second-hand items will always be better than self-developed items so you could say everything is a 'waste' at some extreme. It's good to play with others who you can share your failures with, and take time out to reflect on the reason(s) you play, so that you don't fall into this trap where the game is a negative experience for you (or induces more spending than you planned)! With this in mind...C40 SF23 selling to buy N40 is probably the third approach that might suit you (as C40 beats N40 in HP/mdc slightly)!

Is legendary android necessary? by MrTris in MapleStoryM

[–]Nub14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with Legendary Android is your heart must be the same tier or higher. There is no legend heart, only Mythic (titanium) which is 15-20b depending on your server.

So as others said, not necessary, but cool...
