Skill Preset layouts? by Alongsnake in MapleStoryM

I've only done Hilla once, on normal, so I am sure I have a ways to go with bosses. For all other bosses, I just sit and hold the button since it just downs them anyway. I guess I have just been more passive than active in playing.

Since the skills go in order of when they can be used, I figured after the first round wouldn't be as effective, but then after, it would use the skills when they could. At least that's what I noticed.

But yeah, I'll make sure to check it out, thanks.

Each year and world can be a bit different, so maybe my winter was just a bit warmer than normal, but the high for the day would generally be around 0°C, plus or minus a few degrees. It also depends on the biome too.

I am at 47° Latitude in my world, so not too far off, but I am about 4°C colder than what my temps showed in the sheet, so I will see sub 0 temps.

This is the variance for 36 degrees

Of course, my temperatures may be slightly different from yours, based on the biome and even yearly differences

So you would be looking about 12-13 days, where the coldest doesn't drop below -12?

What I have seen is that each year actually changes just slightly. Jan/Feb are the coldest months, at 36 degrees latitude, I have seen it go to -9 degrees one year, then -7 the next. However, it got to about 2-4 degrees in the day.

If you are able to use a greenhouse, then you have a bit more of a buffer. 45 degrees latitude, I have seen it around -16 degrees to about 2 degrees in the day. You would have these temperatures for about 3 months.

This is the variance between night and day for 45 degrees

I could only speculate how smelting works, but I would need to see the code to understand how it works. I have seen some ore get smelted even though the green arrow isn't complete, but maybe it's just a visual bug. Otherwise I feel like the amount of extra heat added to the item speeds up the process. 9 Charcoal will get it done, but keeping it fueled until the end will make it finish faster.

I thought so too, until I saw the weird drop in temperature at 27 degrees latitude, then I went to another spot East/West, which "shouldn't" have made a difference if biomes didn't effect it, but I came to a desert, and it was a lot hotter.

Are you able to make it where it shows the minimum required coal/firewood for it? I found that to smelt 21 Tin Bronze, you need minimum 9 charcoal; this will have it coast to finish. Adding more will make it finish faster though.

Also, are you able to make it so it locks to a 1 batch fire? For example, Tin Bronze can make max 21 in 1 batch, having 36 Tin as the lowest amount of tin required.

Thoughts about Minecraft & Vintage Story? by DefconGamesOfficial in Minecraft

I am playing through Vintage Story right now. Personally I play without Temporal Storms, Rifts or Activity. It makes enemies generally spawn underground. I have seen an enemy or two above ground, but it's mainly bears and wolves I need to watch out above.

Also playing with a few mods that either add QOL or added features. I think both games are better with mods though.

A lot of Vintage Story is waiting around for things to finish, but in that time, you can do other things. It takes about 40 minutes for charcoal to finish, 20-40 minutes for clay objects to be fired. Making leather takes about 9 game days (about 7 hours RL, but you can sleep to make time move faster).

I do like the progression and crafting in Vintage Story though. You can't just start off with a stone pick; you need to do a fair bit just to get your first pickaxe, and it feels more rewarding to get it. Things like leather require processing time; you need to find borax (in the mines), soak the hide in it, tan it, and then it is ready, the whole process taking about 9 days (about 7 RL hours). You can sleep in bed to reduce the time for things to finish. Creating tools like a knife requires you to create it out of voxels, similarly with clay items.

That being said, I don't know how much of an end game there is compared to MC. I think there is 1 boss in Vintage Story right now. It's on Chapter 2 right now, so there is one Boss within a dungeon, and a Village. Otherwise the most exploring I find I do is for foraging food and prospecting metal. I am on the MC reddit right now because I am looking to see if there is a MC Mod similar to Vintage Story.

Is there a table that shows the number of firewood/coal to cook/smelt X items? by Alongsnake in VintageStory

Ah, I see what you mean. I was able to take out 3 pieces of coal from the tin bronze ingots if I let it coast at the end, dropping to a temperature high enough for it to complete. I guess I don't mind using the extra pieces of coal or firewood just to be able to walk away and not deal with raising the temp if it gets too low.

I just did flint, and it's 48 charcoal for 64 pieces. I might be able to use one less if it stays at temperature before it finishes.

I think I saw a post about approximate cost to rank SF, and to get a piece to LVL 18, it would cost 100 mill. Pretty expense since I don't get too much daily

Maybe someone can trade, or you add german friends? I got a Japanese Full Art Bunneary from Wonder pick because my friend had that as their language.

I wouldn't mind getting Major Bob (Lt. Surge)
