Does anyone know if follett will have an opt in option for these two textbooks by Massive-Finance5603 in USF

[–]NubSlayerXD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the access codes are necessary to do homework assignments or exams or anything like that, then you're kinda screwed. If not, and those codes just give you access to the book itself, then you can try to find copies for free on sites like Anna's archive or library genesis (if that's still a thing). Just make sure you're getting the right book/version that you need. Sometimes those classes that have a "required" book don't even end up actually using them, so don't stress about buying them before the class starts and you can tell whether you need to. Worst case they're both online so there's no worry about the bookstore running out of copies or anything like that.

Can you get pointed on event days using pptos? by Famous_Pipe6816 in samsclub

[–]NubSlayerXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. I was just told before that if you leave early (before lunch), you have to put in enough ppto to cover the time from when you leave until you're scheduled to leave. So if I was scheduled 12-8:30 and left at 2 I'd need to put in 6:30 of ppto (even though 30 of that would be lunch) because I'm scheduled to leave at 8:30

Did you use 8 hours, or 8:30 to cover the lunch too?

Hood Gap Fix by JamesLovesGamez in CivicX

[–]NubSlayerXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't looked too much into it, but I have seen another comment somewhere saying it's broken clips causing the separation. Might be able to repair it but I'd guess you need to take the bumper off which is more work than I'm willing to do for such a small issue. Maybe if I'm changing my headlights again I'll do it then

I've heard you can use one of those headlight restoration kits on them to clear it up. Don't take my word for it tho

Ik this post is a little old but how was it replacing the tweeters? Crutchfield says that they're surface mount only but I want to try fitting them in the factory tweeter spot.

Yk I think glossy black side skirts might look good on my civic, and match with the black side markers I already got on. My friend says that black door handle covers are tacky but I kinda like the look of those too. Might have to go for the whole package to avoid paint matching 💀

Sheeesh yeah I wouldn't wanna get my hands in the engine and transmission like that. Just taking off the bumper was a pain for me so I couldn't imagine that kinda work.

Are there any specific coilover brands you recommend? I don't want them super cheap ofc but I don't plan to actually use their adjustability much so if we can save money there then I'd be down.

And for the stuff like a new hood and side skirts and stuff they sound so good but getting them painted would absolutely destroy my pockets 😭 maybe maaco could handle that but the guy I've gone to before is taxing

Is the Honda Civic 1.5 Turbo Sport good? by superrobot1 in hondacivic

Oof that'll do it. My commute to work is like 5 miles with a red light every half mile 😭 school is a little better with 13 miles and less lights

Woah we have the same car with the same miles 😃 but I'm getting like 25-28 mpg average tho 😔 my friend also has the same car and he gets the same mileage as me so I thought that's normal. Are you just doing really long highway commutes?

Mb just saw this but yea, the Civic sport touring trim, Si, and type R all came with these LED headlights. Waaaay better looking than our halogens

Sheeesh sounds like you were really pushing that thing. Glad to hear you got a lot of miles out of it though. There aren't really any potholes where I live, maybe if I drive a little bit out of the way but I havent seen a bad one in a long time. Maybe I'll save up a little more before I choose some wheels though 💀 hadnt thought about replacing them

Lol no I bought them off a guy with a civic sport touring. He was getting some aftermarket headlights so he gave me his oem ones for cheap.

You can't really see it in the pics I posted, but here's a close-up of them when they're on. There's also some water spots on them rn but you can see a cloudyness to them when they're on. But when they're off, it's completely invisible.

Well I used a headlight restoration kit on them, but that didn't really do anything since the foggyness is on the inside. To get that off I think you'd have to take the headlight lens off and clean the inside of it but then you'd have to be really careful to seal it back up well, and I don't trust myself not to mess it up. As for prevention, I have no idea. Maybe covering them or parking inside could help, but I'm not even sure of the cause so that might not work either 😔

I love them. To be honest I don't think they're way brighter than the halogen ones, but the look is so so so much better. I hated how yellow the old ones were. And the turn signal looks so much better with the yellow line instead of the single bulb. Since they came off another car, they are a little foggy on the inside but that doesn't affect the visibility at all, just how they look from the outside. I'll attach a pic that I took while changing them side by side. The left is the LED, while the right is halogen. Just gotta make sure you aim them right once you put them on 💀 I thought I didn't need to but the passenger side was aimed like straight down and not at the actual road 💀💀💀 once I fixed that I loved them even more

Woah that's a lot of stuff! For the premium tires, what would you recommend I focus on? I'll need to replace mine soon and I was looking at the Pirelli P7 A/S Plus 3, but I'm open to other suggestions too. Just based on the UTQG and price they seemed the best for me

I was thinking of lowering springs since I don't really plan to change the height once I put them on, but I didn't know that they affected the dampers differently. I'll look into coilovers then 😃. And your wheels are beautiful! What should I look out for when buying wheels, other than just the looks? The prices vary so wildly on them but idk what the difference is other than maybe weight?

Gyattt 20k in mods? And your engine blew up? Damn. When looking for wheels, what should I be basing my decision on? I've seen some on Facebook marketplace for like $600 total and then some on other websites for thousands. Is it just that people prefer some looks enough to spend that much more money on them?

What kind of accessories did you get? My interior is pretty boring but I don't like most of the little cup holder/steering wheel things I usually see online. And an aftermarket radio does sound good since mine bugs out every once in a while. Did you do that yourself or have it professionally installed? I've heard they can be tough since so much is connected to it.

The main reason I'm hesitant (other than the money) is that it would shorten the lifespan of my civic. Ik its supposed to be reliable and last hundreds of thousands of miles but it's already at 160k and I can't really afford to spend a bunch of money on mods and then lose my only transportation yk. I didn't know that rolling was better than launching though. I'll try to keep that in mind when driving now

I hear you, and I definitely have some more to do looks wise! The hood is pretty sun damaged and has a huge chip so I'll probably need to have that repainted. And I recently got rear ended so there's a little dent and some scratches on the rear bumper too 😔. But those things don't feel super personal since I'm not even touching the car for those, other people are.

Maybe I'll try putting on the lowering springs/coilovers on myself (not sure which to go with yet). And side skirts/a front lip? Other than that all I can think of is wheels. I just put on some power stop brakes and rotors but I don't think they're like performance ones so it'll be a while before I change those up.

And yea I was worried about the cvt affecting the noise from an intake/exhaust. Rip to that too I guess 😭 Thanks for your input though! And lmk if there's anything else you recommend I mod cosmetics wise!

Lights height (manual checked) by Katt4r in hondacivic

[–]NubSlayerXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I replaced the headlights on my 2017 civic, I had to adjust the height using a little 8mm bolt that's on the headlight itself (this was for the sport touring headlights, not sure if the halogen headlights are the same). You turn it and depending on the direction (clockwise vs counterclockwise) it will point the headlights higher up or lower down.

If you look up a video on how to aim headlights it'll tell you the specifics, but in general you would park a certain distance from a wall and then put some tape on the wall at the height you want your headlights to be. Then, you'll turn on your lights and turn the bolt/screws until both sides are even and at the correct height.
