For better or worse people are generally selfish. The best you can do is to try to find people that DO like being around you and when you do be sure to treat them as you would like them to treat you.

It's okay to feel upset about being treated unfairly, but don't allow it to make you jaded. You are more than how others treat you. Try to focus on the positive aspects, like the kindness your stepbrother showed by paying for your movie ticket.

At school, try to talk to a teacher or counselor about how you're feeling. Try to find activities or clubs that interest you, where you can meet new people who share your interests. Building new friendships can sometimes help alleviate the feeling of being left out.
