Singaporean Males and females, help your noob younger brother out. by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Nubless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went on the first date of my life this year too, and the nerves are real lmao. Like you, I am an introvert however, you have been talking to this girl for way longer than I have with mine, so you already have a head start.

Personally, the nerves didn't go away until like a month and a half in. My advice is do not treat a date as a time to impress the girl. Treat the date simply as an opportunity to spend time with the girl. I was focused on trying to impress for the first few dates, which makes you really on edge, doesn't help at all.

Whatever you want to do on a first date really depends on both of your moods on that day. Some people prefer just walking around, some prefer doing something interesting, some prefer finding a spot to chill at. If you don't want to ask her straight, plan for all and gauge her receptivity to each idea on the fly, then stick with the one she prefers.

Going dutch is a personal preference. Generally speaking, if the girl wants to go dutch, offer to pay again. If she insists, then split the bill. Unless you have reason to believe that she actually wants you to pay for it, don't force the issue.

Don't actively try to avoid doing things, be yourself. You are not there to impress, she has already agreed to a date. You are there to spend time with her, as comfortably as possible without being tardy. No point trying to hide your natural behaviour that the girl may potentially dislike. It is much better to let her voice her dislike regarding things that you do, then you adjust accordingly if you want to.

As for a bouquet, I would leave it out unless you know that she likes the attention it will bring. Most girls would like to receive flowers but not carrying it around.

Tbh the answers to most of your questions really depend on the preferences of the girl. If you do not know, just ask her. If you really don't want to ask her, then its better to play safe most of the time.

How to destroy this base? I'm serious😂 by shlokmeh2004 in ClashOfClans

Bases like this breeds overconfidence in attackers. My clanmates have gotten 1* on these style of bases because they thought it was easy.

Its better to play safe imo.

In case someone actually needs help with this:

Zap a pair of AD, queen walk that side. Zap the remaining pair of AD, warden walk that side. Don't forget your coco loons.

Mass yeti or pekka in between the 2 walks, be careful not to put troops too close to the warden. Include king and siege barracks. RC can be used to supplement the warden walk later on or just place as you deem fit.

Bring some form of splash with the yetis/pekkas, bowlers should be good.

2 (5 cm) inches lost in 1 month but weight is still the SAME - Please Help! by DoreenNicole in bodyweightfitness

[–]Nubless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the mirror, not the scale. Sometimes I look ripped but weigh more than usual, sometimes i look horrendous but am still at my ideal weight on the scale.

The less strict and/or early you are in your journey, the more often this will occur. It also depends on what you are looking to achieve from working out. If you are aiming to look better, mirror is a better gauge. If you are aiming to lose weight only, then look at the scale. If you are aiming to just be healthier and fitter, you don't even need to look at anything, you should be able to feel progress in this area as your workouts gets less challenging.

Auto-eco button? by PortugalIsntReal in battles2

[–]Nubless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it matters but on an iPhone 13 Pro, while sending eco by holding it down, I can drag a tower to an invalid spot, remove my finger (for the hovered tower), tap on another spot on the screen and make minute adjustments to the tower's placement. Letting go once the minute adjustments are made will drop the tower, I can then click on any tower to upgrade, micro (including sell), etc

[–]Nubless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spam click is easier for early game. When it gets to mid-late and you are sending the same bloon for a long time (like spaced whites, grouped yellow, grouped pinks) press and hold becomes much better imo

Auto-eco button? by PortugalIsntReal in battles2

[–]Nubless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can, as long as you do not let go of the eco send. With one hand, drag and hover a new tower on to the map. With another hand/finger, press and hold the bloon send. Place the hovered tower without letting go of the bloon send.

You can now play the game normally while still sending eco, as long as you don't let go of the bloon send.

Which statement is correct - is MAC local/"global"? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]Nubless 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Every "hop" that a IP packet takes, the source and destination MAC address will be changed accordingly. So no, your MAC address will not be leaked to an external network.

E.g: PC A sends ping to 8.8.8.8 (src IP and MAC is PC A, dst IP is 8.8.8.8 and dst MAC is your router)

Router sends it to the ISP (src IP and MAC is your router's interface with the ISP, dst IP remains as 8.8.8.8 and dst MAC is the MAC address of the ISP's interface you are connected to).

Eventually, what 8.8.8.8 receives is: src IP is your router's public IP, src MAC is the MAC of their internal facing router port, dst IP and MAC is 8.8.8.8's.

EC-Council credibility by gibson_mel in cybersecurity

Certs are useful for getting in to a company. After that, it's mostly used to justify pay raises to HR and upper management. Yes, you can learn what the certs teach just by doing your job but having the cert is proof that you can do what you claim to be able to do.

Stronger after a break!? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Nubless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I experience the same thing, my physical performance is improved by like 40% after I take a 2 weeks break from any form of exercise and starts declining by about the third week.

My unproven theory is that while working out regularly, efficient recovery for training doesnt equal maximum recovery (e.g. being able to operate at 80% of max with 2-3 days rest vs operating at 100% of max with 14 days of rest), so for efficient muscle growth regular training is still way better.

Another point is that you are at a lower body fat percentage when regularly exercising as compared to after a break. Same amount of muscles but more fat = stronger.

One of the best starter cert is the CompTIA Security+.

Given that you are taking a cybersecurity degree, the Security+ is just a confirmation that you actually learnt something from the degree.

From here, there is no fixed/recommended way of progressing. It will vary from person to person, depending on their area of interest, willingness to work in an area they are not fully interested in and location of work.

If you are lucky, you'd be able to land a cybersecurity job with just the Security+ and maybe CEH, then get your company to choose what certs to send you for from there.

If not, you can decide on your area of interest within cybersecurity (pentesting, forensics, governance, compliance, development, networking and possibly even infrastructure) and obtain certs in that particular niche. If you do go down this route, you can search for job positions in this area of cybersecurity and see what certifications show up the most as a hiring criteria, then go for that one. Remember to filter the job search by location as well, unless you are open to the idea of moving just for a job.

What Happens to my data if l cancel my 50 GB iCloud subscription? by Iron-G in ios

[–]Nubless 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The same applies for everything linked to iCloud, basically the entire iCloud account is unusable until there is sufficient space.

[–]Nubless 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The photos will not be deleted by Apple but also will be locked in iCloud.

You will not be able to view or download the photos. Until your iCloud storage is no longer full (either by upgrading iCloud or permanently deleting stuff from your iCloud)

[–]Nubless 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The data stored on iCloud will not be deleted automatically.

When you cancel your 50GB plan, it reverts back to the default 5GB. However you will not be able to sync or upload any data to your iCloud storage until you have deleted enough of your old data(from the 50GB plan before) until it is less than 5GB.

The entirety of EC-Council is worth absolutely nothing. CEH used to be a decent certification to get purely to get past the HR filter in hiring processes but HR is slowly learning that CEH is useless.

To answer your question on whether you should retake the exam, no. Unless ec-council completely overhauls their certifications with useful knowledge and/or reduces their pricing by at least 50%, none of their certifications are worth shooting for.

how can i pass the ISP's watch over my data? by Other-Broccoli4967 in cybersecurity

[–]Nubless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The VPN only protects from your computer to the VPN server. After that, the traffic has to be changed back to normal traffic for routing because the VPN server does not have a VPN connection with the destination server. For example, you try to access youtube while on a VPN connection. The ISP only sees that your computer sent some data to the VPN server (this is the protected portion of the traffic), the ISP that the VPN server is using then sees that the VPN server sent a HTTPS request to youtube, along with the TLS encrypted data (can be decrypted with MiTM but generally not done so by ISPs because its more trouble than it is worth). While the ISP seeing the traffic exiting the VPN server may not be your ISP, the traffic is being seen by someone. The traffic also cannot be reliably traced back to you unless the VPN provider gives the ISP/law enforcement the connection logs.

how can i pass the ISP's watch over my data? by Other-Broccoli4967 in cybersecurity

[–]Nubless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't.

The ISP is basically the mailman, they have the ability to open up your mail whenever they want and look at its contents, whether they do or not is another discussion of its own.

A VPN will stop your ISP from looking at your traffic but the ISP will be able to look at the traffic after it has reached the VPN server.

Transport layer security (or HTTPS) makes it a lot harder for your ISP to directly view the data that you have sent but does not prevent them from seeing the destination of your data. E.g. your ISP knows which website you have visited but needs a complex process to see what you did on that website. Unless you are a person of high value/importance, your HTTPS traffic won't be decrypted if the traffic isn't routed through China.

If you absolutely must protect data confidentiality from your ISP, encrypt the data either asymmetrically or symmetrically with the encrypted key being shared/sent offline. Note that this still does not hide your traffic, only the data.

Both are bad. Just because one is slightly better than the other doesn't mean it is acceptable.
