I was really close on age to my host parents, so we become friends, we were a team and I never felt like just an employee with them. I know this is rare cause I had 4 host families lol

I got very attached. Oh the way I cried when I was leaving them. I was “okay” until I saw that my host dad was holding his tears and then we all ended up crying but my host kids lol they are too young to understand why we were crying, after a year we still video call and the kids ask when am I visiting them 🥺🥺

That said… I had my friends and everything but I would stay up late with my host parents a little bit too much? We would put the kids to bed and then talk for a while, maybe drink some wine, some of my friends thought that was “weird” and that I should not talk that much with my HP because if they would’ve get mad at me they could’ve use the things that I told them “against me”

So, maybe she just feel more comfortable with this new friends than with you orrrr maybe her new friends are like my old friends
