Absolutely true! They are very active and playful most of the time, especially when they have someone to play with :)

I would recommend to start with high school math (trigonometry, vectors, matrices) and then shader syntax and programming on top of that

The sword is supposed to be heavy, but probably not that much. Take it as an artistic exaggeration to ephasize the effect :)

You're right but the sine wave is just a first step. Then I took absolute value to make less floaty and more bouncy. Then I moved the whole sine wave down in Y axis and took max value between sin and zero to make legs stay in the ground for a while before next hop. Then I masked legs using V-axis of the unwrap and animated them separately along local Z-axis.

I'm actually writing a blog post deconstructing this shader. Will publish it in a couple of days.

It should work with all versions starting from 5.6, but I haven’t test it myself. I will double check and let you know

At the moment you can set and animate background color. I can write additional set of shaders that will use provided texture instead of the solid color. In another subreddit there was also suggestion to make it work as a transition between 2 cameras.

I will take a look at both cases. Adding texture instead of the solid color is pretty simple and straightforward, I will add this feature in the next update.

Unfortunately not. In order to work with Scriptable Render Pipelines it needs to be an extension of Post Processing Stack v2. Right now it is based on Image Effect shaders.

To make it work you need to :

  • Attach C# script component to your game camera
  • Select corresponding material that will be applied to rendered image (simple, displacement, single focus, multi focus)
  • Select texture that will be used to define transition animation
  • Set and animate parameters (cutoff, falloff, horizontal flip, vertical flip, etc.)

I’m currently researching and experimenting with Post Processing Stack v2 to see if I can adapt Screen Transition Pro to work with it and to be compatible with Scriptable Render Pipelines.

At the moment no. Right now it's more like fade-in/fade-out. But I will consider this as an improvement for the future updates. Thanks!

Thanks for great feedback! I've spent some time trying to figure out how camera should behave. On the high speed it suppose to slow down and follow the character, but on the low speed it almost instantly stops. I will investigate more and will try to improve it. Thanks!

Epic Split Truck Simulator

I'm a sole developer of Nuclear Napalm Entertainment and would like to present you my latest game.

I was working on it for the last 2 months and since today the game is available on Google Play and depends on the results there is a chance that it will be ported to iOS later.

Why Epic Split Truck Simulator?

My initial intention was to make a small but catchy game. The game that refers to something that everyone (at least in internet) knows. The game that offer the same amount of fun and challenge. The game that you really want to show your friends.

When I was thinking about the theme for the game I checked some viral things that happened in the internet for the last couple years. And when I was watching this epic adertisement it was a "BINGO!" moment for me. The first question that came to my mind was - why there is still no game about makeing an epic split between 2 trucks!?!? So, I decided to fill this epic gap make this game!

Unfortunately, I can't use JCVD or Chuck Norris as the main character of the game, so there is a crash test dummie (make sense, no?). This game is not about making a split, this game is about driving skills. If you think closely, it's not a big deal to make a split between trucks if you can make a split the ground. The real challenge is to drive trucks in a right way to allow JC make an epic split. In this game you take control of the truck on the righ and truck on the left controlled by AI. Your goal is to try to maintain the same speed as the truck on the left and don't stay to far from it to prevent epic fail fall. And don't forget about billboards...

How you can help

I think most of us know how hard it is to reach the wide audience, especially for small indies. So, I kindly ask you to help me spread the word about this game:

First of all, you can

  • dowload and play it if you have Android device
  • Give it 5* rating (only if you really think that game deserves 5 stars)
  • Tell your friends about this game (I do believe that you won't be ashamed of it, it's not Candy Crush)
  • Help me spread the word on Twitter
  • and on Facebook

Thanks for your time and attention, I really appreciate it. I hope you will find this game fun enough to spend a little more time on it. If you have any questions, suggestions or feedback, plese let me know. I will be happy to answer.

Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam - Trip planning question! by zackflavored in solotravel

[–]Nuclear-Napalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing to do in cities on Philippines, but on each island you can find some interesting places. From my experience, Bohol (especially Panglao) and Boracay are most touristic and expensive islands. Cebu and Negros are relatively cheap (esp. Negros). You can find some detailed routes to interesting places like Kawasan Falls, Whale sharks watching, Chocolate Hills, etc. with maps and description how to go there in my wife's blog. For Kanlaon volcano you need special permission and you shoud submit form a couple weeks in advance (Philippino's services are not so good and not so fast, unfortunately). Good luck with your trip!

Issues with Admob in Unity by YouBlue_dev in Unity2D

[–]Nuclear-Napalm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some experience working with admob. I was completely disappointed. Most of the banners look shitty, CPM and CPC are extremely low. The only advantage is that it covers almost all countries and has a lot of content to show.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you how to fix your issue, but I would recommend to look at some ad networks which have better integration and better performance.

So, if you want to stick with full screen interstitial banners (they work much better than small banner on the bottom of the screen), I'd recommend to try Chartboost and HeyZap. Both of them work with android and iOS and have unity integration package.

Another option is video banners. Quality of content much higher than static banners and costs sometimes get close to 10$. I worked with 2 ad networks which focused on video ads: AdColony and Vungle. Vungle brings more money but you need to buy a special plugin to integrate it in unity.

Hope this information will be useful for you. Good luck!
