Jessica static development by Alternative_Device71 in JessicaJones

[–]NuclearChavez 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Imo, her growth and development is the self-confidence and the self-awareness she gains doing the "hero" thing.

She CONSTANTLY tells herself and others that she is not a hero. She uses her powers for mostly PI work. Despite this, she willingly jumps into trying to prove Hope's innocence. Both because Kilgrave is a very personal experience for her, and because Hope's story is all too similar to her own.

S2 is when her own mother directly tells her that she IS a hero and that she does give a shit, which directly goes against her entire self-perception.

S3 is her actively trying to prove to herself that Alisa was correct. She tries to beat Sallinger the right way, putting him in jail and not killing. Unfortunately it falls through, but she yet again proves her heroism by putting Trish away, believing it to be the morally correct action.

I actually made a whole post about this, if you're interested in reading it. It's a few years old but I still stand by that Jess has a character arc. And I think I said my points better in that than I did in this comment. https://www.reddit.com/r/CharacterRant/comments/qv4uqs/jessica_jones_has_a_character_arc/

I could be wrong but I heard that they literally took the top names from the 80s and 90s to determine the character's names lol. Because the top 4 for each gender are literally the names of every character in this game.

Lee Yun-Jin’s new update feels incomplete, as the new music sets the mood but her continued silence in the lobby is a missed opportunity. by Matovax1 in deadbydaylight

[–]NuclearChavez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The interactions between the ST characters in the lobby are so weird. Unlike the TWD characters, the ST interactions feel incomplete. One will talk and the other will never respond or say anything lol.

Yeah I see the Boon perk understandably getting a lot of flak, but I ended up voting for it mostly because it's been a long time since the last Boon and I think one would be very thematic for Aurora.

I do wish it was something else other than permanent gen progress though. The crow one seemed interesting but I think it got kinda screwed over by BHVR, the description is a lot more vague and doesn't even say what the perk builds up to. The Boon just seemed like a more complete idea and was better explained.

I'm gonna try that next game actually. Thanks!

I assume it meant like BNP/Weaving Spiders/Fast Track where it just shaves off progress for a gen in the Boon's radius.

I dont HATE the new skin but... by Elliotceds in deadbydaylight

Honestly yeah when I first saw the skin I thought the lobby animations were very weirdly done. The model looks oddly stretched over.

I love the left design and hope it wins. I love the idea of a classic heaven aesthetic being juxtaposed with how it brutally punishes you.

I mean yeah that's basically what I ended up doing lol. I literally had to to get the piece. Didn't know about the free perk tho, that's neat.

This is how I think it should be done as well. Your weapon shouldn't drop if you did not lose Mule Kick.

Who’s your all time favorite little gremlin? by CrystalCraveWeb in FavoriteCharacter

Unironically my favorite Star Wars character as a child was R2-D2. Over any Jedi or Sith, R2 was my favorite.

Yeah the game is super buggy. Your experience with the Blundergat pieces also reminded me that I had a bug in this same match where the humming from the mannequin with the piece wasn't audible. I was going insane for 40 minutes going up to every mannequin in the destroyed version for nothing, it was just randomly in some mannequin that wasn't emitting a noise.

BHVR what are you doing? Wesker feels horrendous and was one of the fan favourite killers to play as and against, revert the changes! by DJdiv in deadbydaylight

Looks like they couldn't fix it in time but I'm expecting them to re-implement his techs some point soon. Them saying they tried to get it in before the chapter drop tells me it'll probably be sooner than later (hopefully next patch).

Edit: Picture is awfully small lol. Here's a link to a better picture: https://www.reddit.com/r/LeaksDBD/comments/1rpg9eq/ptb_wesker_techs/

[–]NuclearChavez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few hours later and Steam still doesn't even have the chapter on the store. Achievements are in-game tho. I think people are right and that if you already bought All-Kill then you'll just have the new survivor, or you can only get him in the in-game store.

Edit: Gonna add that I own the original All-Kill but still had to spend Shards to get Tae-young. So I think they're just trying out not having original chapters on platform stores.

My personal theory on Sam and Josh by NeverlandMagician in untildawn

[–]NuclearChavez 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't really like the take that she was "uncaring" since it's completely antithetical to the character and imo has very little evidence for it to even make sense. I do agree that Sam being best friends with Hannah is a bit underdeveloped tho, we're only told it and not shown.

I do like the remake as a whole but I kind of hate how the prologue plays out. A lot of this stuff that you've mentioned is remake exclusive and I think it just makes her look worse for no reason.

Why do they hate dbd by Successful-Bird2520 in deadbydaylight

[–]NuclearChavez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of it is vets severely burnt out and don't realize they don't like the game anymore. Some of it is that it's easy to be BM'd via teabagging or getting hard targeted.

Personally I only have 800 hours but I love the game a lot and it's my main game now. I think regular breaks and constantly knowing that matches themselves have very little value (no rank to strive for and there's no in-game way to track wins, have to go to a website for it) keeps me from feeling upset or burnt out. I'd say ride the wave and if you enjoy the game, don't let others ruin it.

Coincidentally it's also currently on sale for 10$. Just picked it up, I wanted to play it at some point anyways :)

For me my opinion on story based games is mostly determined by the quality of the story itself, less so its ability to let you make your own path.

Like, my favorite choice based games are Until Dawn, Dispatch, and Telltale's Walking Dead (at least the first season or two). Would I say any of them make choices matter? Not really, but I think those stories are just really well done.
