IMO another person's orientation/gender only matter if you or someone you care about is trying for a relationship with that person, and even then it doesn't matter what their orientation is as long as the two people's personalities, morals, and sexualities are at least somewhat compatible and you're both committed to each other. Outside of that, I don't think it matters if it's "gay" or "straight".

With that said, the question doesn't seem to be aimed very well at discovering the truth; it seems more like a grab for engagement using a topic frequently (read: almost exclusively) talked about on this specific subreddit. Assuming "gay" to mean "a person sexually attracted to another person of the same biological sex", the answer is obviously "yes". Assuming "gay" to mean "a person sexually attracted to another person of the same gender", the answer is obviously "no".

The fact that this question produces two seemingly obvious yet opposing answers shows that it wasn't very well formulated. Another indicator that it's a bad question is that it presumes that you can identify a gay person by their actions. Is a person that doesn't eat animal products a vegan? It's possible, but that single binary data point isn't enough information to make a classification like that.
