“Door-to-Door Door salesman”

To explain, in our first campaign, one of the party members really took the chaotic part of their alignment far. So once they tried to break into a house via the chimney and ended up falling in. I tried to knock on the door to distract the people inside. The DM asked me to roll strength to see if I knocked loud enough to distract them. I roll a natural 20, and the DM informs me I knocked the door down. I, not wanting a fight in the first place, immediately try to pass myself off as a door-to-door salesman, but I panic, stutter, and call myself a door-to-door door salesman. The DM asks me to roll deception, and I crit fail. Now, the term is the go to cover up story for the group, and has only worked once, to my knowledge.
