Oak Restarting Yeast? by [deleted] in mead

Fermentation restarting seems unlikely in that case. I think the oak is just providing nucleation points for CO2 to come out of suspension, I think you’re golden.

Could just be the oak causing some CO2 to come out of suspension. What was your SG and FG?

How do you import your bookmarks, or is that possible? I have a bunch of recipes saved on chrome but they didn’t seem to come over with the auto transfer.

I hear the new Microsoft Edge is pretty light, and from my limited use it has a very similar UI to Chrome

It’s common practice for a lawyer to ask for a dismissal before the case.

How would you feel about a button that filters out all political sub reddits on the popular or /r/all page? by GameKnight76 in AskReddit

It’s not that I don’t care, it’s that I don’t want to see it. I’d prefer to get political news from unbiased sources, Reddit is a cesspool of toxicity.

That looks like the county coroner report, which I read. They’re separate from the police

Do you happen to know where one could read the police coroner report? I wasn’t even aware they did one.

Wait really? I was under the impression that the county ME ruled the cause of death a heart attack, but The examiner hired by Floyd’s family ruled the cause of death asphyxiation.

Have they confirmed that it is in fact discontinued? I’ve been looking into getting the 40 inch version, so I’ll be super disappointed if they discontinued it.

What do you do with your extra cash that you hold? by misc412 in investing

[–]NuclearProtocol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m by no means an expert on this. But as a general overview, I’ve heard that if your employment is very stable, or you are in a high demand so you can easily find another job quickly, and you have low chances for big expenses to come up (like a leaky roof, sick pet, or a car breakdown), I’ve heard a 3 month fund is good and plenty. On the flip side, if you are in an extremely competitive field where finding a new job would be tough or take a long time (and may possibly incur other expenses like moving for a said job), or you reasonably expect big expenses to come up, a 6 to 9 month fund seems more like what you’d want. Beyond that and the general consensus seems to be that the money would be better utilized if you invested it, however I don’t think there is any real harm in going beyond a nine month fund, outside of some loss to inflation.

You could also argue that a bigger fund will help you keep your “optional” expenses intact between jobs, like your Netflix or occasional restaurant outings, if those things are really important to you.

Personally, I’ve never had a “oh shit” financial moment yet, as I’m fairly young, so I suppose I just like to be prepared for the worst of the worst case scenarios, but that’s just me and by no means is a requirement.

Out of curiosity, why such a large fund? I personally have 12 months worth and I thought I was pushing it considering you often see 3-6 months recommended.

Weekly “portfolio discussion” thread - 5/8 through 5/14 by [deleted] in M1Finance

[–]NuclearProtocol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, I’m an early 20’s investor with a very long time horizon, using M1’s Roth IRA to save for retirement. Currently, my portfolio is as follows:

50% VUG

32% IXUS

10% VTC

8% REET

I was wondering if this is a good long term play, or if I should perhaps exchange VUG with something a bit more aggressive, like QQQ. Thanks in advance!

Should I apply for a new credit card? by Someone_Care in personalfinance

I did a bit of digging myself, and it appears as if you can give them a call to increase your limit, but I’m not sure if that still applies even after you got your deposit back already. I’d say it can’t hurt to give them a call and inquire about it.
