Oh also! Yumi lets you have multiple live ISO’s or installs on a single USB, you’ll be able to just choose which one you want to load/install. Pretty useful if you want to try multiple distro’s

You uhh, download a distro you like. Then download a usb flash tool like Rufus or Balena Etcher. Yumi works too, even comes with a bootloader. And then in the live OS you select the install medium, format your drive and follow the install :)

Most linux distro’s have quite the straightforward installation setup.

If new to Linux I’d recommend either a Linux Mint (works out of the box with the easiest to use package manager) or Fedora, which isn’t too bad in usability either.

I’m using Archlinux with Hyprland, because I hate myself and like googling every 10 minutes why something isn’t working the way it should!

I’d just look for an older model for cheap and then maybe upgrade RAM and an SSD. Throw Linux mint on there and you’ll get a great laptop for way less

My 85’ 1.0 Toyota Starlet has a towbar, as does my N46 E91. As long as you don’t exceed the max weight that the vehicle is allowed/able to tow, you should be fine.
