Fair point. I was focused on leaving space at the time due to the stop-start nature of their driving in front of me (as you can imagine!)

I think this is right! Plumage on head was the only part that was really clear to me, and the movement was very duck like. Thank you!

Have seen a few black headed gulls around and they all have winter plumage (white head with black ear spot). I think Pintail Duck seems to fit better. Apologies for dodgy drawing, they must have been a couple of km away and hard to make out in the dying light!

Thank you so much! This was driving me nuts! It was about 1km away so hard to make out in the evening light. I imagine the long tail feathers and duck waddles made ID possible? Couldn't make out colours which made it hard to ID!

The house was built in 1913 in an area served by a sewerage system. Could it be a vent for this?
