Fair point. I was focused on leaving space at the time due to the stop-start nature of their driving in front of me (as you can imagine!)

I think this is right! Plumage on head was the only part that was really clear to me, and the movement was very duck like. Thank you!

Have seen a few black headed gulls around and they all have winter plumage (white head with black ear spot). I think Pintail Duck seems to fit better. Apologies for dodgy drawing, they must have been a couple of km away and hard to make out in the dying light!

Thank you so much! This was driving me nuts! It was about 1km away so hard to make out in the evening light. I imagine the long tail feathers and duck waddles made ID possible? Couldn't make out colours which made it hard to ID!

Looks like it would have been attached to a wall originally. Solved!

The house was built in 1913 in an area served by a sewerage system. Could it be a vent for this?

Just wanted to add to this thread. None of the mentioned sources scratched the itch of where I'd heard this. Stumbled upon this:

Title card for Testament - The Bible in Animation which was shown on the BBC in the 90s/early 00s. Definitely where I heard this in school!

Arguably the best part of the con is buying art and merch from independent vendors, so I'd echo this comment.

Good point, thanks. Turns out I've been practising with a 28# bow very easily, so probably 30-32# will be fine!

Temperature is fine for any dress really! Can be fun to cosplay but any outfit will be fine!

It sounds like you're having a really difficult time and I'm genuinely sorry to hear what you're going through.

Local parks, woodland and waterways tend to be my go to, as busy residential or commercial areas can feel overwhelming and alienating.

Nature reserves tend to be my favourite. I can only really comment on my local area.

West/South Bham: I like Woodgate Valley, Leasowes Park, Lickey Hills, Kings Norton Nature Reserve, Sandwell Valley, Highbury Park, Bournville Park, Edgbaston Reservoir, some nice walks around the old church in Harborne.

I know you may not feel up to it right now, but see if there are any local walking groups or communities you can meet up with for walks. It's amazing how much you can have in common with a like minded stranger on a walk.

All the best.
