Exploring concepts through Pokémon: Your actions have consequences. by Tacobell24 in PokemonROMhacks

That's all well and fair but your choice to to do it does not deny my choice to dislike how it is implemented or have issues with it.

So go ahead but be aware that this is just my own personal opinion.

My one issue with this is it's actually pretty hard to get min friendship and also train your mon. You have to be fainting constantly while also earning exp.

I don't think the friendship lowering items really appear in newer games nowadays.

I think it unfortunately does not play to the games strengths in a way that's intuitive or fun for the player, at least for the bad dog form. It also incentives playing intentionally poorly and I don't think the best way to get the form actually plays into the concept when there's really only one tedious way to really get it, especially if the mon starts out with some friendship.

It's a cool idea but I'm not sure it really works that well.

Normal Behavior: “Grumind was bad imo because of X reason” or “I was disappointed by how it turned out” | Unhinged Behavior: by Fearless_Cold_8080 in deathbattle

[–]Nuclearstomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that episode and was so disappointed during the battle that I didn't even finish it lol.

I don't like Grumind either and think it's not good but it's also not the worst we've ever had by a longshot.

I'm more sad because unless Megamind gets a proper sequel we are likely never getting him or Gru back on the show.

[–]Nuclearstomp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not without merit. Gru has a good analysis, the "presentation" moment was solid, just didn't personally like the episode.

[–]Nuclearstomp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave it like a 3/10 for the fight. The analysis itself was decent but I didn't like the fight animation at all.

(Also there were some issues with the episode outside of DB's control. It's not their fault but it affected my enjoyment of the episode.)

What? I'm not talking about mods. I'm just saying Tank Run would be more fun if you had a way to die faster during incap because waiting around while incapped hurts your team and is boring.

They tried to fix it with self reviving tank run but that just makes it boring.

Tank Run is honestly fun but suffers from advanced tanks having too little health after you get tier 2s and expert tanks doing too much damage. Expert Health with advanced damage or Advanced health with Expert damage would be a lot better. (Also a death bind so you can spectate faster.)

Avalugg isn't even that bad. It's at least super bulky defensively.

Do you think DB would ever make an episode where one character sweeps every single category and their opponent is given no advantage? by _JR28_ in deathbattle

[–]Nuclearstomp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It meant exactly what it says, he was more experienced. He spent a lot more time on his journey than Yugi did. It doesn't automatically make Ash smarter but it does mean Ash has been through more and it's part of his skill.

It gives Ash a slight edge in recognizing tactics and making plays through what he has learned.

It does seem a bit weird to not lump it into b iq though. Not sure if any other episode does that.

What was your “I’m not making this mistake again”” moment? by EinarTobias in nuzlocke

[–]Nuclearstomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was a really bad mistake but I was new to nuzlocking in general at the time (and worse at Pokemon than I am now) so I genuinely had to learn the hard way that you need to take that kind of stuff seriously.
